Whilst I was in PDC last week, I decided to venture out of my "comfort zone", by that I mean; going to my usual holiday restaurants, and try out a few new ones.. I must admit, I wasn't dissapointed.
The first restaurant I tried was;
La Braseria Steak House. Just up the road from Rutta66 & Tropical, next door to La Dolci Vita, which by the way was also recomended to me, but I never got the chance to try it out,,,,
La Braseria is quite a large open fronted restaurant, with a great choice of menu, catering for all tastes, from fish to pizzas, from steak to kebabs, and anything inbetween. The food & the service was excellent. I had; starter, Hawiian salad, Plus a pint of lager. Main course, mixed grill, which consisted of some of the best meat I've ever tasted in my life,,,, the lamb chops were "to die for", barbequed... Jacket potatoes & mixed veg. All finished off with strawberry cheesecake, ice cream & a half bottle of red wine, cost 25 euro's. Ok, maybe not the cheapest place in town, but if the food & service is good, I don't mind paying. La Braseria caters for; large groups, families, couples and for the likes of myself, lone travellers without feeling intimidated, For me 10/10 excellent.
The second restaurant I tried was
Cafe Roma. Cafe Roma is below what used to be Ceasars nightclub.
Again, a large spotlesley clean restaurant with a great menu catering for all tastes. Service & food excellent. One night I had an all Italian meal. The second night I had; melon & ham starter. Main course of fillet steak with peppercorn sauce & all the trimmings finished off with a fine old wedge of apple pie & cream, plus a couple of GnT's !!! Score 10/10. And many thanks to the Irish lass that served me on both occasions.
The third restuarant I tried was on recomendation of a couple that were staying in the next apartment to me. The little
Marritoni RestaurantPlease don't let "the look" of this place put you off. The Marritoni is a small Spanish owned place, next to the Spanish Inn, on The Strip. From around 5pm till 9.30pm EVERY NIGHT you will struggle to get a table,, booking reccomended, which for me speaks for itself. Again brilliant food, even though the waiter seemed a little "rushed off his feet" !! Not quite as large a choice of menu as the other two restaurants I have commented on, but sumtuous grub none the less, at, I add, a VERY AFFORDABLE price.
Score 9/10. The only reason the Marritoni scored 9 is because I wish it was a bit bigger, nothing wrong with the food whatsoever.
For breakfasts & lunchtime snacks, I can reccomend The Galleon, The Sports Bar, which are both more or less at the bottom of cardiac hill, and Keans Sports Bar, opposite the Farriones Hotel (where ya can have a flutter on the nags as well). Keans is open from 8am till "late", the Galleon & the Sports Bar, from 9am till

? ha ha ha..... Enjoy yerselves,,,,,
