Hi,

I'm new to this forum and just wanted some advise, i am thinking of moving to Playa Blanca next year and was wondereing how hard it is to find a job?

Any advice you can give would be great.

Simple answer Jo, it's not easy..... Best advice we can give is...

1. Get to know people - its who you know not what you know
2. Be open minded as to what you are prepared to do
3. Be prepared to ask for work...
4. Be persistant and don't give up

As Flash said, if you want anything other than bar and other tourist businesses dominated by English speakers you need Spanish. Without it, it's highly unlikely you'll get office jobs for instance. Be aware too, that wages are not what you are used to either (but the cost of living is less).

Best to know the pitfalls now - before you throw yourself in the deep end. What is it you do back in the UK?

Thanks for the advice, i work in insurance claims in London mainly dealing with ships and cargo. I dont really mind what i do though, not really looking to stay in the same work.
