Just come across this website whilst trying to find out where to see good live music on the island

I have been coming to Lanzy regularly for about 15 years and have never found my entertainment home.

My big bro has a few houses on the island (mostly rented to permanent residents) so I can usually kip somewhere.

I have had tons of fab meals out but can't find my kind of music.

I am a bit of a larry loner on this visit (usually come with hubby and or family) so want to find somewhere I can go by myself and not feel to worried about unwanted company.  I know quite a few residents but they are not the music loving types, that or they can't find their kind of place either.

I do hope someone out there can help.

To give you a hand as to my tastes.  I go to the Cambridge Folk Festival every year, but like the world music as much as the traditional.  This year my fav performers were Noah and the Whale and Devon Sprole.
I love spanish classical guitar music.  I saw Rodrigo y Gabriella at cambridge last year and thought they were fantastic.

I love a bit of lounge music too.

Something gentle but with the chance of a harder edge now and again would be ideal

Any ideas.  I am not a big drinker so will be happy to drive most places on the island.

I am over for a week from Oct 2nd so any tips gratefully received.

Looking forward to your ideas

Hi there recreate and welcome to the forum!

Hope you find what you're seeking!

There seems to be a lot of folk stuff about at the moment - albeit in organised festivals. Could be just the time of year. But you never know... something could turn up.

Thanks for the replies.  Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to it.

I am staying up in the hills above Puerto Calero.  I will have a car and as I am not a big drinker I am happy to go anywhere.

I have seen great live music at La Gomar in Nazaret but I don't think it happens anymore.

Anyway.  Keep your eyes and ears out and if you see anything for that week give us a shout.

Cheers.

Hi again recreate - yes, will definitely keep our ears open for you.

Nice area you'll be staying in - amazing views from there. There's a lady who posts in here called Dottie - and she usually stays up there too.
