Hello

Me and my boyfriend are staying in costa teguise next week (cant wait) and I was wondering if people could recommend a few nice bars/restaurants in teguise and costa teguise. Having read about some of the bars I am a bit worried that a lot of them are chavvy type places so would greatly appreciate suggestions of non tacky nice places! We dont mind paying a little bit more for a nice meal. I have heard that Lagomar is very very good but I have no idea where it is. Has anyone heard of it? Also what is the weather usually like in early October? Thanks!

Hi Lucy - don't worry... as Bob says, you'll be spoilt for choice.

I love the town square, and there's some reallt carcking places around there - as well as down in the direction of the sea.  I'm yet to eat in Lagomar - but yes, we've heard very good things too.

Bob, thanks for putting my mind at ease - unless that was sarcasm!

Flooey - Thanks for replying also. Do you have any favourite bars or restaurants that you go to while youre there? Also are there any things to do that you think are a must when you visit? I have never been to Lanzarote before so do not know what to expect but im really really looking forward to it. I'm sat at work now wasting time looking at pictures of the resorts etc. cos im too excited to work! Were staying at the santa rosa apartments and all ive heard is good things about the place.  Smiley

Thanks to everyone for replying!

When I say chavvy bar I just mean the sort of place that is full of unsavoury characters e.g people who start trouble and are generally unpleasant towards others!

Meat - that sounds like a good place, Ive only just got into steak recently but I really love it now so im sure we'll be taking a trip there!

Well my boyfriend likes sports and I think he would probably want to know the name of a good sports bar/pub to go to incase theres a footy match he wants to watch! We know the nightlife in costa teguise isnt spectacular but thats fine we just would like to know of a few pubs and bars to go to on a night with a good friendly atmosphere! I hate it when you go on holiday and you walk into a bar that has no atmosphere, its depressing! By the sounds of it there are a lot of nice people in costa teguise anyway so im sure there will be lots of places we can go. The only places I dont really like are sort of cheesy bars that have bad embarassing acts on. I get embarassed for the people on stage and it makes me feel quite uncomfortable watching them.

Sorry for the millions of questions but is porta del carmen (thats probaby spelt wrong!) worth a visit during the day for shops? and also how far away is it from costa teguise? are there a lot of taxis/buses that take you to different areas?

Is the trip to the volcano where you have a meal on it worth a visit? I have heard about it so wondered if its worth paying the money etc. Any other suggestions for attractions, bars and restaurants would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone! x

For your sport, I'd recommend the Bulldog (more info in their page on this site - which you can get to via the Costa teguise listings).

Busses are nice and easy to Puerto del carmen - I did it last week. Meat helped me out with the advice at the time. They go about every 20 minutes... and it didn't take that long to get there either.

Yes, yes, yes - do the volcano trip!

Hello everyone!

I cant believe how nice and helpful everyones been thanks a lot.

Yes were staying in the santa rosa apartments. I hear its only about 15-20 minute walk into the city centre so were probably gonna walk to all the restaurants every night (if we can be bothered). Are there a lot of spanish restaurants or is it mainly enlgish food?

Does it rain a lot in early October? I'm so pessimistic I just think its going to be terrible weather as soon as I step off the plane!

6 days to go now! x
