Went to Carmens last night for the first time

Last night some great friends took us to Carmens restaurant in Puerto Del Carmen for their last Weds of the month Caribbean night. We were taken back by how professional the waitress was on our arrival, it makes a change to have someone so smart, polite, welcoming and knowledgable about the menu. The place was clean, nice atmosphere with all fairy lights at the windows and soft reggae playing in the back ground, the chef came and spoke to us (tony) and between him and the waitress they told us the specials and helped us order the perfect meal. Having lived in Jamaica for a year myself and my husband know proper Caribbean food and let me tell you thats what they served. Absolutely mouth watering jerk pork, jerk chicken, rice and peas and all the extras. The wine and rum punches went down a treat too. We?ll be back there for the next Caribbean night and hopefully on a normal night to try the normal menu too. Would love to hear if other people enjoyed it as much as we did and if anyone has tried anything else on the menu

Hi ange,i first went to carmens back in november with my friend for her birthday,we had a great time.Staff made us feel really welcome +they were so friendly.What can i say about the food though?amazing!!!!the most mouthwatering,tastiest food i have eaten in a long time.great size portions too well worth the money.Tony (owner+chef) came out to see that everything was ok which we thought was a nice touch.Since then i have been back to lanzarote a few times and always visit carmens for good food,drink+atmosphere.My favourite dish at the moment is the pork,ive also enjoyed the duck,carribean chicken+the sunday lunches which by the way is the best ive ever tasted. I definatley give carmens restaraunt top marks. i would recomend to anyone who enjoys good food to try.
