British Airways are one of the airlines to bring in this new one bag per customer unless you are in first class rule!!! So it doesn't matter how much is in it (up to 23kg) you just can't take two bags without paying an excess charge!
FROM BA WEBSITE:
World Traveller and Euro Traveller – 1 Bag
Maximum dimensions per bag (H+W+L): 158cm (62in)
Maximum weight per bag: 23kg* (51lbs)

HOWEVER ... for those of us that bring stuff back to Lanzarote or have friends bringing the essential tea bags ...
£60 per bag or £42 per bag if paid online (includes 30% discount)
So that means if you want to bring the kettle, toaster, cups and saucers as well as the tea bags its worth just paying for the extra bag as its cheaper than freighting it out!!!

So not good for bad packing tourists but good for ruthless locals!!

Quite often BA aren't much more expesive than the so called "budget" airlines. Occasionally even cheaper.

First Choice seem to be the best out of Stanstead.  But BA aren't doing to bad in the legroom stakes if you don't mind Gatwick North terminal.
For any Senior Citizen out there, definately First Choice, as you get premium seating etc, but no extra cost.  Its a really good deal on the internet.

Be warned with Thomas Cook, they have just changed their website again and are stating you get sent tickets to your home or have to pay to pick them up at the airport instead of an e-ticket.  A bit dodgy if you're flying back to the UK from Lanzarote!  Haven't booked anything so don't know if this is strictly true.  Anyone who books, let me know

Just wish there was some good deals from EMA - since Scandic Air went bust all the majors seem to have formed some kind of cartel - before you could always get flights at about £250 in the school hols if booked well ahead (still expensive, but I could just about get Mr C to swallow it if the flights were under £1k!!!!) , but now £350 seems to be about the cheapest Angry

Only ever flown to the Canaries with Monarch, I think, so I guess I'd have to vote for them.

No complaints with the service, at least.

I don't know about the best but the one to avoid is FLYJET.

Expect delays or cancellations and if you have a complaint then expect to wait months for an answer.

BAN THEM FROM OUR SKIES!!

Yes it is, but it's not listed on Air Malta's website, only xl's - good times too, leave at 9am, back in the morning.

Maybe tourist figures in Malta are down this season if they are renting their planes out to XL....
