...and Queen of IT! How she manages to type a message to say she's just running out of the door always amazes me. "They can wait" I would think.......

LOL - ok ok OK!
Every Boxing Day for years... I would get together with my ladies. We would hit the Boxing Day sales good and early... and spend lots of pennies. Of course this was broken up by frequent visits to the local wine bars for refreshment, and recharging of batteries.
Then everyone would have a snooze in the afternoon... It was obligatory to be cold on that day... so with lots of hugs and cold noses the girlies would turn up in the evening to my house, where I'd lay on a big spread with pates, cheeses, pickles etc. We'd all sit around the tree and open our presents together - that was always more of a Christmas than the actual day.
Last year was the first time it didn't happen. We'd hosted it at my pal's house the year before... but the girls have stopped doing it in my absence, which is a real shame.

Sounds great! Not sure if you invited the ladies down the Boxing day sales experience could be replicated in Lanzarote - what a pity - and you'd all have to stand in front of an open fridge to stand any chance of getting a cold nose . I'm being too flippant as I know you feel sad but it's great to have such good memories and perhaps you'll do it again one day - why don't you start planning a Sex and the City style girls outing in New York one year when you've saved a few pennies? Thanks for the offer Josie - but we've already got some on the go... think we'll be drowning in the hot lovelies when it's time to harvest.
You're right - haven't seen a sparkly lawn in ages... or even a normal lawn come to think of it. But no, not jealous... I much prefer the warmth. I only miss the frost on Boxing Day. Takes me back to a longstanding tradition (with my ladies) that I haven't been able to do recently.

And there was me thinking you were one of those mad people who went for a Boxing Day dip in the sea! Lynn x

Aye, it was flippin freezing last night. I love Christmas here though especially the run up to it, with an xmas film obligatory every day in the 2 weeks preceeding the big day ! Still undecided whethewr to try and book a return to PDC for Jan or Feb next year, Is there really much difference between say taking it on 29th Jan or as late as 19th Feb ?? Thanks Danny

Only the weather, Danny... maybe a degree or two's difference so not much. I'd go by the prices personally, and see what swayed me - as you've got the flexibility.

Thanks for the reply Elle, No difference with places being open etc ?? Also read somewhere that it rains a lot more in Jan that Feb, but is that usually early Jan ?
Thanks again Danny

Places being open etc shouldn't differ that much (doesn't seem to be a regular pattern here). I've found February to be a wetter - but it would only be a day or two anyway. I'm also only going on the last couple of years - I guess a pattern would emerge over a 10 year period, but I'm no weather expert... I can only go by what I've seen. You may also have a bit of cloud about during both times you've mentioned - but you can still burn, so do go careful! Watch those Feb dates for half term flight prices hon. Elle xx

I've just had an email from my friend at Agueri who says this October is the strangest weather she has seen in Lanzarote as it normally never rains so much.

It blimmin well did last year! But it was all concentrated into heavy downpours over a few days, instead of being lighter and more drawn out as it is this year. This last february was torrential for a couple of days (CeltyGirl was here at the time).
The sun has just come out here this afternoon though. Oh and Sam's arrived safe and well, and so has our satellite enginneer!
