I have mentioned this place a few times so i thought i would do a review , Marios is situated in the Montana Tropical centre which is behind the Flora and Balcon del Mar complexes we stayed at the Flora so we went throu the complex and out of the back gate but you can get their via the old town ,
My Oh found the place when she went with her daughter and took me in December, for Lunch to start as we were AI at the Floresta , they do what i consider a brill idea half a pizza for luch , which is just enough during the day and its any off the menu , off which there are about twenty , it was the nicest pizza i have had in years , and was so filling we didnt eat the chips we asked for separate, so they didn't charge for them brill customer service IMHO ,
IN June we went more or less every night ad i went throu teh specials board , Lamb chops Pork chops , Dorada fish in Garlic and others all were HUGE and brilliantly cooked , the service is sometimes slow but what the hell i was on holiday , and this seems to be the gripe on many reviews (sh*t UTD HAVE SCORED) but they should have been there when Turkey were in teh Euros and playing teh service was hilariously slow but as the waiters and most of teh chefs are Turkish , i didnt mind , oh and they gave us a free bottle of san valentine when i did say something and apologised so much
i would reccomend this place to anyne , oh and brekkies are great as well ,
well worth a go and i have atakeaway menu which i will try and scan tommorrow at my parents as i dont have scanner a the mo , to show you
if anyone wants any more info just ask
Steve
Ps the special special was a a 3 pastas in a pizza base , which was Lasagna , Spag Bol and Mac Cheese with a pizaa base on top and below it was huge as the portions of pasta where full size menu portions we didnt have it but a table next too us did and and they were stuffed only having half , and anything you dont eat is doggy bagged

Sam - this place sounds great. It's not somewhere we've tried - so thanks for the recommendation! Flooey xx PS: Loving your reviews!!! keep 'em coming!!! Actually - come have another holiday, then you can post more! PPS: You mentioned that most of the staff were Turkish - reckon they'd do me a traditional Turkish meze (sp?) if I asked?

That's great news Sam - make the move... you'll love it!
Yes, I'll bet they have the ingredients. I can't remember the name of the little cheese filled straws, but they were fantastic! The meze is just superb in Turkey! tried it back in the UK... bt it's just not the same.

It's in Montaña Tropical. Do you know where Emma's Cantina is? Well if you were heading down there from the Biosfera... then instead of turning left for Emma's (just before the steep slope that takes you towards the mini roundabout)... take the next left instead. You'll pass the English Tearooms on the right. Keep going... and Montaña Tropical is a bit further along on the left. If I remember rightly, the road bends to the right, but you can still drive straight on.

or to be really cheeky go into the flora reception and walk straight throu down the stairs on the left and then at the bottom go left again and then right by the side of the pool and the bar , and go out the back gate , turn left just outside the gate and follow the hill down you will see the spar and Marios is just past there just before the actual entrance into Montana Tropical cant miss it
i will try and post some pics later on of marios
cheers
Steve

went on loads of times again here absolutely brilliant the staff greeted us as long lost friends giving julie a kiss and shaking my hand and asking how we were , the food as normal was gorgeous and due to lack of customers as the areas surrounding were quieter than when we normally go chatted and treated us as friends ,
so to Karim, Bernardo and the others who i didnt get there names , see you soon
even my parents oved it they went one day after misising us at our apt for a toastie and for €2.20 you get the toastie , chips and salad , down Reina sofia they were charging €3.50 just for the toastie and the half pizza at lunch are great we can reccomend , Marios , Bolognese, and the Hawaiian

Well... eventually I got there! I popped in for lunch today - and I have to say it definitely lived up to expectation. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, without being overbearing. The waiter was very apologetic when I couldn't have what I wanted (no octopus salad today) but he recommended another salad - which was really good! I've taken a photo because we all like photos... It was just layer upon layer of salady goodness. The avocado and prawns were really juicy. I wasn't sure I'd manage to eat it all - but manage it I did! Prawns, avocado, egg, lettuce, cucumber, orange, sweetcorn, grated carrot, shredded red cabbage, red pepper, green pepper, onion - and probably more that I don't remember. The terrace is lovely - and sheltered from the wind. I imagine it would look lovely when all lit up. Lovely place. Lovely staff. Will definitely be back... and will definitely recommend. Thanks for the tip Sam Lenn! Elle xx
