We just adore Puerto Calero, Arrieta & Famara!

We don't spend much time in the main resorts, other than to have a wander!  Also, we like to stay somewhere central like Tias or La Asomada  Grin

Mine has just gotta be Matagorda, PDC is just too noisy.

Sorry guys but the best resort on Lanzarote is Playa Blanca by far. Playa Blanca has everything you want. If you want a nice peaceful time you can. If you want to party until the wee hours, you can. The eating places are excellent and the pubs are plentiful and welcoming. The coastal path is breathtaking and you can pop over to Feurteventura for the day quite easily as the ferry port is on the doorstep. Not that you would want to leave Playa Blanca that is ! Calling all holiday makers of ALL ages...Playa Blanca is the place to visit!

Hi!

It's got to be PdC old town.

Excellant restaurants around the harbour.

Right next to the Biosphera shopping centre.

Has the best snorkelling beach on the island.

Only ten minutes walk away from the Nightlife and hustle, bustle of PdC main town.

Central for activites all over the island.....

had bars in PDC for 12 and 1/2 years so that will tell you where I think is the best resort...well it is for me to work in. Matagorda to reside in and with a 2 min walk to the prom and walking to PDC or Playa Honda and further what more could you ask for.

Sorry PB or CT have never done anything for me.

That's what it's all about, isn't it? Preference. As a aholidaymaker, I would've usually gone to Puerto del Carmen if I was visiting Lanzarote. It's busier, and has more bars etc than Costa Teguise & Playa Blanca. But to live there - no thanks... I'd never get any sleep lol. I like Playa Blanca, because it still has that quietness about it - but there's plenty of bustle when you want it too.

What about some of the other Islands too? I liked Caleta de Fuste on Fuerteventura... but that was donkey's years ago... and it was 2 bars, 2 hotels and 1 gift shop. A group of us went for New Years' Eve. It cost a fortune to get there back then - but we had a wicked time. I see it's a lot busier these days.

Might be giving Corralejo a go soon - as it's just across the water. Heard ery mixed reports... so are going to check it out.

Corralejo is very quiet but can be nice if you look around. Also a bus connects with the ferry to take you to Puerto Rosario to hit the Shops........ Roll Eyes

PB for me...PDC brings out the worst of the Britishman abroad...but there are lots of nicer places on the Island that are probably a bit too remote if you have a family to support

Punta Mujeres , Mala, Haria and Famara are much more underdeveloped but give those who want peace and quiet a perfect getaway

Playa Blanca for us!! visited it nearly 10 years ago on day trip from Feurte, loved it then and said we'd come back to stay, well the best is worth waiting for! as said PB has something for everyone and without being spoilt too much by tourism and high rise hotels, it has one of the best promenade's in the world, plenty of bars and restuarants..you'd be well gone to have a tipple in every establishment from the harbour to marina Rubicon..might try it next visit..Hic
