I spent a few hours watching the first 2 practice runs on here y/day afternoon! Lewis looked calm & cool but I suspect he was sand-bagging with his lowly positions! I have flutterbyes in my tummy just thinking about the race tho' But, there is a 60 - 70% chance of a wet race.....good for Lewis! Also the ferrari tyres aren't holding out too well. Like you, if the phone rings eith Sat or Sun pm then it wont be answered as it will be someone who doesn't know me!! Whatever the result - ENJOY

Just saw the news and they were waffling on about a toy black cat - hopefully he's not supersticious.

Normally I'd agree about the wet Dottie, but if he gets a decent grid slot I don't think we need the variability, if he gets a poor one then the rain will help. Agree about the sandbagging. I'm at the match this aft, normally me and my Dad listen to the radio coming back, but it'll be a radio blackout this aft until we've seen the qualy on sky+ Either way enjoy Steve

I don't think I'll ever see a more exciting finish than that Flash do you? I loved the Ferrari team celebrating what they thought was their man winning the championship. I'm looking forward to watching races without adverts next year.

Awesome, need to watch it again - without so much tension so we can enjoy it.
I've said before I raced a lot through the eighties (motorbikes) - it always stunned me that you never ever saw a non-white face (I was doing a lot of work with ICI at the time and that was the same) and of course there's only ever been white faces in F1 (even in the teams really) so a fantastic step forward in lots of ways.
Mrs Flash wanted him on the podium with Massa and Alonso, just to see Alonson squirm!! Cruel, but not unfair.

Wow! I was so nervous to begin with, then the start was delayed, so by then I was in a state! It really was a race to end all races and the result was unbelievabubble!! I too wanted to see Lewis on the podium, just to rub it in a bit more The sad thing was the boo'ing and is some F1 forums the bitter ferrari supporters are claiming that Glock slowed to let LH thru on purpose I'll watch it again too Flash, like you say - to enjoy it without the nail biting and the pacing the carpet!! I wonder how much champagne has been drunk @ the McLaren garage tonight? LOL Perhaps the US will have the first black president come Tues/Wed now........

First race I've watched in a long time. Perhaps I might even get interested again next season. I used to follow the sport fanatically. Bbut got so annoyed about the initial rule changes - which to me designed to break Shumackers stranglehold at the time - I stopped watching in protest and didn't come back....
I'm pretty sure America will have it's first black president this week. Wonder how long it will be before the first assasination attempt?

Funny you should say that, we've been saying what's the life expectancy of a black president. I'm sure there's plenty of good old boys from weezyanna fancy a pop.
Given that everyone has a gun too then hopefully they won't get too close!!

What's all this rubbish I keep hearing about Hamilton winning at the weekend?
According to my newspaper they got beat 2-0 by Motherwell.

Something very fishy about the end! How can a professional racing driver (Timo Glock) who was 15 to 18 seconds ahead of Hamilton with less than one lap to go "suddenly" forget on how to drive a racing car?? O.K. it was raining and he was on dry weather tyres, but with the ease that Hamilton passed him looked deeply suspicious to me! Not taking anything away from Lewis, he had been unfairly penalised in previous races and should have had the championship title won before the last race. Call me cynical but I wonder if Glock was looking for a new team for next year (maybe Mclaren)

Hi Cynical, sorry Ted The other slick tyre runner around was Trulli two places behind Glock, and Glocks last lap was actually fractionally quicker - see the live timing archive on the link below, so I don't think there's anything too iffy there, and Mclaren have already tied up the driver contracts for next year, so again I doubt any subterfuge. However if Hamilton hadn't gone wide (what was Kubica up to?? last lap, last race and no points to play for - why unlap yourself, just keep out of the way!) I doubt very much that Vettel would have attempted to pass, even though he was in a Ferrari engined car - those young lads go back a long way, but once the gap was there he had to take it. And as I always say, you've got to remember, F1 has more in common with a circus than a sport. http://www.formula1.com/results/season/2008/804/But it was bloody exciting though

"Well" Grand Master Flash. I bow to your greater knowledge. I feel humble in the presence of such wisdom. I still say it seems like a hollow victory. Championships should be won by "winning" not having it gifted to you!! Lewis may have the title, but Massa has the respect. Still "sey la vie" as they somewhere? As for contracts bah, not worth the paper it seems lately. Must do more research/must do more research/must do more research

I wouldn't feel humble, Ted - it's only Flash He's probably found it on someone's blog *Elle runs before Flash launches something in her general direction*
