Right that's you off the board of governors Flash. The only good thing to come out of this is that with a rate of 1 = 1 I will be saved the constant questioning from the rest of the party........"how much is that in English" .............or will I?

The last couple of years I have taken mine out a week or two before the end of term, and have on another couple of occasions due to prices (but always back in time for the start of term). Though I wouldn't want to take them out for conventional holidays - I think our families circumstances are a bit different. What's worth more in a kids development quality time with their father or sitting round after the exams watching DVD´s with tachers who are also counting the days...

Absolutely no way would I describe the £1 €1 parity as being a "good thing" Keith. You should see the size of my euro mortgage

'Fraid not hon. Because the suppliers haven'd dropped their prices either. But there's still plenty of bargains about!
€1.50 a large beer in a few places in your fave PdC!

And three years on, pound at a more respectable 1.195 and heading North, so transfer your cash to your Spanish bank now - as long as you're sure your Spanish bank isn't going to go tits-up (re ST article this week)

The rate in the UK today is 1.16 euro to one pound sterling which makes it about 83p to the euro.
