As a chair of governors I applaud your dedication - remember they only get 190 teaching days per year and a fortnight in Lanza would take 5% of that away, and with such a fast moving sylabus it would be very difficult for them to catch up

Take em out after SAT's and before the end of term that way they'll miss nowt (let's be realistic) and a holiday is a life lesson - a wide and varied cultural experience would be my argument

The last couple of years I have taken mine out a week or two before the end of term, and have on another couple of occasions due to prices (but always back in time for the start of term). Though I wouldn't want to take them out for conventional holidays - I think our families circumstances are a bit different. What's worth more in a kids development quality time with their father or sitting round after the exams watching DVD´s with tachers who are also counting the days...

Absolutely no way would I describe the £1 €1 parity as being a "good thing" Keith.  You should see the size of my euro mortgage

The rate in the UK today is 1.16 euro to one pound sterling which makes it about 83p to the euro.
