[Alan]

The real me: I´m  Alan, live in Playa Blanca with my wife (Flooey on this board), and a dog. To varied a history past and present to be described on here. I love living in Lanzarote and we have made some great friends since being here. And met some p**cks too...!

My character: As, many moons ago I used to work the doors for a living - I´m going to appoint myself head doorman.

Character description:Name is 'Mick' - I look intimidating, but I´m a big softy really. Shaven head of course, monkey suit with a pink dickie bow (yes that´s what I used to have to wear!). I´m a big flirt - goes with the territory - but have the missus and 5 kids at home... I cry at war and girlie movies.... I hate the manager who I think is a jumped up little ar*ehole, but have a real crush on his wife who pops into the club from time to time. Door policy is no trainers or jeans - and pretty much anyone I take a dislike to. My secret is that apart from spending all the time bouncer do during the day in the gym, my day job is a job that doesn't get me the fear, respect and adoration being the head doorman does. Not telling what it is, but it always has people guessing...

The real me: I'm Elle, and live in Playa Blanca with Alan (Bart). We love it on the Island, and it's very much home for us now. We work hard... but play hard too.

My Character: As I used to run pubs back in my Whitbread days... I'm going to appoint myself as "Bar Supervisor". I have delusions of grandeur (think David Brent on speed), and I like to run a tight ship. Of course I have the attitude of "do as I say and not as I do", and can usually be found propping up the end of the bar... barking orders at the staff... whilst quaffing my Taboo and lemonade. I still have my 80's perm... and I love my stilettoes. I have a huge crush on the DJ, but of course he sees me more as a sister, and he's more interested in the 18 year old girls that flap around him with their skimpy tops and short skirts. Bunch of slappers! During the day I'm normally shopping for handbags and shoes - all of which are shoved in the back of my wardrobe... and I've ramped up a £12000 credit card bill, which I'm trying to pay off. If only I could stop spending! Ooh... are those Jimmy Choo's I see there? I must have them!

The real me - I´m ange, run a little business in Playa Blanca that keeps me busy. Married for almost 10 years to Dave, we are parents to a lovely almost 3 year old girl. We currently have 7 dogs.
In the club - hey I am also me, I intend to be the one rallying people for nights out, dishing the dirt and recalling the events from the night before once we all sober up! Party!

Real me - Allan (another one! but with two L´s) also living and working in Playa Blanca as a singer! Married to Elaine coming up 5 yrs! Love this Island and the people on it. This Club idea is mad but couldnt resist a post 
Character - Also named Allan (with two L´s) He is the late member of barstaff who never even bothered to turn up for opening night and will probably be sacked very soon! He did come up with a lame excuse though and hopes the management take pity. He is lazy and always tired or tipsy however he knows a lot of the "A" list whom the owners want in the club so the management seem to put up with his dreadful antics! He also has another hidden talent which may become apparent if he keeps his job.

Real me Sally-Ann .. you know the one with the big mouth who causes trouble. 4 dogs 5 cats a horse and a parrot

I am  the one who gets on the dance floor and makes a ass of herself !!! but thinks she is dead cool 
Sings badly a Karioki (sure thats not how you spell it) and flirts with all the bar staff  especially of they are young and good looking... sorry cant help myself (oops think that might be the real me as well). Femm Fatal (cant spell that either) hey I have a reputation to keep up. Drive a pink beetle convertable with the roof down and 70's music on full blast with a pink poodle on the back seat. Made up to the nines looking like a bad case of Mutton Dressed as Lamb.. tight skirt stillettos and bleached blond hair.

Club me: You won't normally find me in the club. I'm just a local drunk/tramp that hangs around outside (very occasionally I might sneak in, until I'm spotted).  I'm dirty, loud, pretty offensive, and stink of alcohol, BO and urine.  I regularly give anyone on the door a hard time before crashing out in the side alley in a pool of vomit.

 AKA known as Jon, a bit of a piky travelling back and forth too the UK, visiting meetings.

I drive a Capri 3000, with Bat out of hell at full blast and  wear a gold medallion, I am normally on first name terms with the doormen and after a couple of V&C's I am on the dance floor, with a soft spot for Mutton.

fulltime job...local authority greenkeeper gardener..fantastic job

part time job...dj 5 nights a week...under contract to one company for last twenty two years..as of 2010
won glasgow student night out award 6 years running and had to give up as missus not pleased with attention from newer models....lol
longest residency so ..15 years in one establishment still running on monday night
make more money deejaying than full time job...but need to get out of house for something to do during day...worked more or less every major nightclub in west of scotland....parochial thing...
cos i like a drink when working and don't drink and drive.
started in 1976 and still in demand today as embraced every technology and kept up to speed with what hot and not..
favourite decade..the 70's...simply because i was teenager then and know it inside out.
even with recession...still doing corporate work for coca cola..siemens...mcdonalds..ibm...belhaven..
corona..tennent/carling...t in the park..etc
biggest impact on me has been switchover to digital content and multiple monitor use (big screens and projectors) this has enabled me to carry and present over 25 thousand plus music videos ranging from the sixties to up do date material from promo only..mixmash...videopool which i subscribe to.
also mastermix and dmc material..dj promotion only material.
i run a subscription only private ftp (download site) for dj's only that i know personally and have met personally for them to access material.

personal hate is managers and pub owners that think they know what there customers want..leave that to us that know and are employed to know that.
..seen them open and close..all because they had a fixed idea of what they wanted and expected...there money ...their failure.
i have no aspiration of living and working abroad...will do a spell IF mood takes me and on holiday an bored out me nut ..as wife sum worshiipper..i'm not..lol..
i'll be the dj 2 nights a week....the nights i'm off back home...lol

retro night....now this is my specialty...

Wow..interesting stuff Robert. I too used to DJ (with a mate) in the early 90's in a small club in York. We used to get the quiet first slot before the 'named' dj's used to dj.
I had my own technics and mixer at home and had a rather large collection of 12' - about 1500 I believe at one point. I sold the collection though many years ago. I too was a mastermix subscriber in the 90's. Still got many of those CD's in storage. I liked the 'grandmix' end of year CD's they did...still do??
