I'm on the fence for this one.  I'm not often strongly opinionated, so I probably won't take part much. 

Being a Libran I can't help seeing the two sides of every argument, so I'm very "wishy washy" when it comes to a debate.   

Having said that, I do not condone the use of torture in any shape or form, so I'm with Josie on the Guantanamo subject.  I equally despise those who resort to torture, either as a crime or a punishment.

I voted for a yes. I think that because it could be on a wide variety of subjects... there are some I'll join in on... and some I won't.

Absolutely right that we should respect each others' opinions. As long as reasoned arguments are given - without any personal insults (oh aparrt from towards Flash... because he doesn't count) then it could be good.

If it starts to get out of hand, then we can just delete it.

To be honest - despite me quite liking the idea... the outcome is so undecided that I will change my vote to a "no" - as keith says... "If it ain't broke... don't fix it"

I would have voted yes a couple of days ago. But having read Keith s comment I've changed my mind. Not that I don't think we should discuss such thing - just from the point that we shouldn't put pressure on ourselves to get into heated debates. My view is that topics like Guantanamo will inevitably work in every now and then.... In which case we have an occasional spat rather than a daily spat..

You should expect no less from Flash Josie.... He's a natural. One of the biggest mass debaters I know....
