Traditional Mexican Cuisine, prepared by a Mexican

WWW
« on: April 10, 2009, 13:34:00 PM »

Extraordinary traditional Mexican cuisine and Tex-Mex food, prepared for you by a Mexican.

Mexico - a country so lively that even the "Day of The Dead" is a hoot!

Many people are under the impression that all Mexican food is very hot and spicy. If you are ever lucky enough to visit Mexico you will find that this is not always the case.

mexico was ruled by Spain between 1519 and 1820, by France between 1864 and 1866 and with its immediate neighbour being the United States th culiinary influence from outside its borders has been enormous. Add to this the dishes cooked b its indeginous population for hundreds of years and you have a wonderfully tasty and colouful culinary mixture. As to ingredients, the world can thank Mexico for beans, corn, tomatoes, chocolate, avocado, papaya, guava, vanilla, dozens of spices, and of course chili peppers.

When you visit Mexico City, find one of its major throughfares called "insurgentes". It is 12 miles long and you will encounter every type of restaurant that you will find in any large city - and more. Mexico City is the most poulous in the world with 27 million inhabitants so you will find almost every country's cuisine in this avenue alone.

Our regional dishes are all authentic and may take us a little longr to prepare as they are all cooked fresh. The are heavily condimented so please try them before adding salt and pepper. While you are waiting try a typically Mexican frozen magarita (our speciality) or any one of our selection of exotic cocktails. There's not only several from Mexico but favourites from other parts of the world too.

Emma and Mike are proud to bring this tiny piece of Mexico to you which is the only authentic Mexican restaurant in Puerto del Carmen. You wil find many dishes on our menu which are uniquely Mexican and only to be found here.

We will do our utmost to ensure satisfaction with your meal and our hospitality and we hope you enojy dining with us here. If you do, please tell your work colleagues, your friends and family - and please do leave us  review in this forum. If for any reason we do not meet your expectations, please tell us.

¡Andale¡

Mexican food is not always hot and spicy, but always tasty
