Loooooovely!

As some of you know... it's Alan's birthday today (Bart)... so last nightwe went out for dinner to La Bocaina. It's the first restaurant you see in Playa Blanca, on the right, just after the petrol station as you enter the town.

We were greeted by Nina (owner) and our waitress as we entered, and were shown to our table. It was spotlessly clean, good subdued lighting, and with a nice quiet atmosphere.

We both ordered soup for our starters. I had courgette, brie and basil... and Alan had potato and leek. Both soups were superb... and really thick... gorgeous!

For main course... Alan went for steak Diane cooked rare.  Of course I had to have a little taste - just to make sure it was okay for him. And it was really good. It was very tender. I wasn't keen on the sauce... but that's a taste/preference thing - and certainly not the quality. I had a French broth, with mussels, salmon, prawns and tune. It was very, VERY good. Immensely filling... and I was really stuffed by the time I had finished.  Couldn't face pudding after that lot!

Upshot? Highly recommended! Do have a meal there!

Also. Tomorrow is Summer Solstice... and they have a day of entertainment planned. They've got stuff going on for the kiddies outside... a BBQ... singers... and all sorts! We're popping down. Anyone else going to join us?
