no1  Tochuelo a dry white. Available from Spar for a couple of euros. Do also try the supersol carton of table white. Cheap and nasty... but gets the job done LOL

no2  sorry can't help there. Maybe try pulpo?

no3  Try the kid goat - but beware... it's pricey - and best sampled out of the resorts

no3 Come to PB... and let us know - we may be able to meet up!

no4  Deffo Emma's Cantina!!!!

Could you also bite the bullet and do the Rancho Texas night - and give us your honest opinion? We may take the boys this year... so I'd like tyo know if I will be needing to take a razor to slash my wrists or not LOL

Hiya buddy.
I don't need to tell ya where to go in PDC Deano,,,,, you know the script matey.....  Wink BUT !! Try the shoulder of lamb in La Dolci Vita ?? Then toddle off down to Spenders for 5 or 10 drinkypoos !!
But I will add;
If you've never been down to PB, definately spend a day. Its a lovely place. I went down at crimbo to see friends and must admit, I was gobsmacked to say the least. Its a lot bigger place than I thought.  Loads of restaurants, bars etc. But its also a lovely lovely place for walking. All along the seafront. There's a bridge (Flooey, hopefully will tell ya where it is) Ya wanna see the fish !!!
Honest Dixie,,,, give it a go mate.
Get the bus from the Biosfera. Its only about 2 Euro 40 cents. Takes about 40 mins.
This time last year we were sat in Spenders, avin a "few", & nursing Von's sunburn !! Remember ??  Wink
Av a gud un pal.
Mick.

PS. If ya call in the Galleon, say hello to Dannielle from me (young blonde lady from Newcastle). Tell her I'll be over some time in July. Cheers pal.

If you're eating a light fish it's gotta be Torres' Viña Esmeralda, - heaven Smiley Could gulp some down now, fish or no fish!!!   Food wise, if you're a carnivore and don't love Watership Down, try conejo con ajo Wink

Ooh an exciting new thread!

1.  I agree with Celty that Vina Esmeralda is good but you can get it in the UK.  I would suggest Lanzarote wine which I used to dislike but seems to be improving.  Best one I've tried lately is La Geria rosé which goes down nicely and a friend brought to the get together in PB that Mick mentioned and of course you can't get it at home.  If you want white wine which is cheap but tasty (NOT nasty) the Supersol blanco is great - Flooey and Bart tried it out on us on a "blind" tasting to see if we liked it before revealing it comes in a box - and seriously it's not bad at all.
2.  Try bocinegro (or something like that).  It's the male version of sama (or the other way round).  Trust me, it's great.
3.  No idea - I only eat conventional meat.
3. (again) An English friend told me last week that 10 years ago or so there used to be a tiny locals style bar above the old town harbour in PDC with a resident flamenco dancer.  If it's still there and you can find it can you tell us all about it?
4.  Go to El Golfo if you have transport and try Costa Azul or for a more authentic experience right on the black beach Bogavante.  Neither are very cheap but if you go just before sunset the atmosphere is second to none.  In PDC harbour Puerto Bahia right on top of the cliff has stunning views and the food looks great though we've only had a drink there.

Have a great time!

me and yvonne went on the bus to p.b last yr and had a lovely walk along the front it really is a lot slower paced than pdc,so this yr we decided to go and see what they have done to the avienda, and next year its a villa in playa blanca, we might get there this year on the bus because yvonnes mam and dad have only stopped in pdc before and she just got back to normal after her illness. ps mick what time does the bingo start in spenders. Wink  pps mick like to people watch in the galleon i will tell dannielle your over in july.

no1  2 bottles of wine of your choice, your suggestions please  Agree with Elle  Tochuelo is great , Elle reccomended it to us and we sank quite a few bottles , i also like Torres San Valentin which you can get in this country but only at certain places(morrisons) we cant get it at all round here also i wa stold about Liria , we managed to get these wines in the spar in Montana Tropical

no2 a type of fish i may not of hadi had a dorada fish when last there and its was very nice , it came with about 6 bulbs of garlic thou

no3  a type of meat i may not of had? something you ex pats may of tried and likedi have tried rabbit and goat in the past but again as said try it out of resort , shoulder of lamb at Marios is to die for

no3 a bar i should try,i will say if i have been in it or not, dont forget pdc mind i might do p.blanca  one lunch time.Dog and Duck in the old town is great but i am biased as Emma is a good friend and so is Phil the owner , also a lot of expats go in there to meet up and if you want a total change Dorada bar in the old town , you will be the only non spanish in there unless our mate is in there with her boyfriend

no4  a restaurant to try           as aboveMARIOS i love the place even thou some dont i think its the best quality and value in PDC , as its not on the strip its certainly cheaper than the frontline places , also i love Bar Playa on Playa chica , full of locals and the garlic prawns with canarian pots are also to die for

Hello Dean,
You're just like me mate, always on the look out for new things to do and places to try,
I gave you some suggestions in the PM, but here's some more,

no1  2 bottles of wine of your choice, your suggestions please  ...........I agree with Sam, Torres San Valentin is reallty nice and our favourite over in Lanza, we too get some from Morrisons now and again !

no2 a type of fish i may not of hadi.............Not really a fish man, but had Garlic Prawns in a lot of places

no3 a bar i should try,i will say if i have been in it or not, dont forget pdc mind i might do p.blanca  one lunch time.......3 to try that you may not have been to, go to Ricks for a couple of hours or the American Indian and watch Question......or try the quiz at Chadwicks in the old town,

no4  a restaurant to try................If you like Pizza, try Pinnochio's dioes exactly what it says on the tin, very reasonable and great pizza....other than that the lunch time fayre at G&T's (Los Pocillios) is very good and we also want to try La Pucinella in that area too, next time we are there

Enjoy mate
