Well for those that are around here you know that immigration did let me back through ... loved the whole fingerprinting system that they have there ... I think maybe we should queue all US Citizens for 3 hours when entering the UK as well!!!
It didn't spoil the holiday though ... as although I was treated like a criminal on entry I soon was a criminal (55 mph ... are they joking???)!!!
Chrischi and I ended up in the world famous "holiday inn express" in a lovely part of Southern LA called Placentia ... and yes I did spell it right!!! Bargin break and although I'm sure you are all Canary fans and don't want to visit the US (especially flying across through several US cities) you can get flights on Northwest Airlines (nwa.com) for stupid money at the moment £330 (I'm not joking!).
So we wanted a proper holiday where we would do what we wanted when we wanted and that for us meant touring a number of different theme parks including Disneyland, Seaworld & Universal Studios ... queues weren't TOO bad and thanks to a couple of local forums worked out the best time to go to the parks and which way to walk around (it is amazing how friendly locals can be on forums Grin)
So with a visit (tour) of Hollywood and a trip to Venice Beach all in all we had a great holiday and a complete transition from the slow pace of life here in Lanzarote ... I must say that if you don't like driving don't go to LA (and on that fact if you don't like smog!).
So back in to the real world with a bang a week ago now and just starting to get back to normal and so you'll see me popping up on here a little bit more in the next days!!!
Thanks to those forum members who have popped in and picked up their WAX discount cards whilst I was away ... sorry I never got to meet you in person but hope you enjoyed the cheap drinks without my company (sorry to the rest of you got no more holidays booked until much later in the year!)
Cheers!!!
Phil
