Had to make someone else redundant today which is very hard - an issue was the fact that our IT manager is one of her FB friends which made it slightly difficult when she remotely wiped her inbox. 

Hmmmnnn - suggest you get the IT guy to change the password before or at the time you call people into the office in such circumstances. You never know what even the nicest of people are capable of in those circumstances.... Sadly perhaps, I have plenty of experience of this. I always worked on the assumption that people can turn in an instant....
