This used to be one of our favorites when we first started going to PB over 10 years ago because of the brilliant location on the sea front and view across to the ferry harbour. I used to love their Ensalada Brisa del Mar at lunchtime. The restaurant had gone down hill and we stopped going there so often but it has now reopened after being closed for many months for refurbishment and we tried it for lunch on Monday.
The first thing we noticed was the smart new menus and the very helpful approach of the head waiter. We didn't want anything too elaborate so shared a house salad and a sea food pizza which were both excellent with some nice rosé wine. We heard the waiter tell some other people that paella would take 25-30 mins because they make it from scratch and to be wary of other restaurants that bring it quicker as that means it's not freshly made.
Added entertainment came from the fact that there was a very high spring tide that day and the waves created by the Fred Olsen ferry crashed over the sea wall and we had to lift up our feet as the water flowed underneath (we were right at the front on the walkway). Two ladies sitting on the nearby bench gazing out to sea got a bit of a surprise as they were drenched!
All in all we were impressed and will come back. Good prices too.

Great review J! Thanks for sharing. I think Flash will be interested too... as he and LundyLou had been asking when it was reopening.

Yes it's a great spot, so we'll give it a try. They seem to spend ages refurbishing it, in much the same style as it was before!! Brisa Marina always looks great too, but they always seem to find a way of dissapointing slightly (I know loads of people rave about it, so it's probably just us) Will report back on Brisa del Mar - did I mention it's only a week or so before we come back

Ah, you'll miss Bart's birthday then - but will definitely meet up with you and LyndyLou.
Tell Flashniece that I have a sunburnt nose too - we must both look like Rudolf!

Great news since it has been closed for refurbishment during my last three visits! Is it still run by the same guy, (Georges)? I now have to book another visit but can't get to PB until November. Oh well!!

Visited last week and it was nice, service was fine and the house white was really tasty.
Great spot for a long lazy lunch.

Hello Josie, Had to laugh at your post, as I was that soldier! I was sat at the Brisa del Mar right next to the walkway about 5 or 6 years ago in the month of Feb. The weather was calm and clear, we were having breakfast and my mobile rang. The call was from the UK and during the talk I asked how the weather was? (really bad as I knew already). It was breakfast time so the place was quiet and everyone could hear what I was saying, and when my mate said the weather was soaking wet, I joked and put the boot in by telling him that the sky was blue, the seas were calm and the sun was too much to bear! At that moment a wave burst over the wall behind me and I knew exactly where it was heading so I braced myself thinking everyone was going to get soaked. I was wrong... the wave came right at my back and hit me only...not my wife or the folk`s right next to me, just me, never even bothered the table, and as everyone heard my smarty comment about the weather, they all fell about laughing... My mate asked what was going as he heard the commotion over the phone, and as I was completley drenched and told him what had happened he said it was God, and forever known as the God moment.
