what's it been like this season so far re visitor numbers, always keep an eye on the webcam overlooking the beach at the surf centre, the place looks really quiet, i know its not a live stream however it just seems dead.
How is the cutty doing under its new owners?

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Yes, it is a lot quieter than it has been in previous years.
Mark and Rebecca are doing just fine in the Cutty Sark. Great couple!

Hi

How quiet is quiet?

I'm looking to come out within the next few weeks and find some work and stay for as long as possible, do you think now is not the right time?

Hello hainaultman and welcome to the forum.

The island is quieter all over at the moment because of the reduced visitor numbers. It seems that Costa Teguise is finding it particularly tough - although fortunately it has its faithful fans who return year after year. Personally I like it when its quiet, as I can get served quicker LOL.

If you are thiking that just by rolling up that a job will fall into your lap, then I'm afraid that you're in for a shock. Unemployment percentages are higher here than the UK... and that's just speaking about registered residents - not all those that live and work (or not) without being in "the system".

That being said... if you have enough money to tide you over... and aren't desperate to find a job - then go for it. It will be a nice long holiday for you. Our attitude is that it's better to be skint in the sunshine, than in the rain. Grin

Good luck!

I don't expect to get a job just like that, I expect to be looking for a long time! But obv, if something fell into my lap, it would be alot better...hehe!!!!

Good stuff! As long as you're realistic... and have a few euros in your pocket - then what better way to spend the next few months eh?
