Next January  Grin

Ok I know I'm a bit early looking for where to book but hubby's just said "OK, we'll go" and have got a wee bit excited (not going abroad this year so want something to look forward to  Wink)....

I was going to choose another Canary Island but I really like Lanzarote and hoping that the weather will be better next year (surely it can't be the same two years running  Roll Eyes).....

Hi Hever

Great to hear you're back to Lanzarote next year!

Early January was good this year - it only went pear shaped at the end of the month and then didn't really turn consistently nice until April.

Hi Josie  Smiley

It was late Jan early Feb we went this year and of course I ended up being ill too with a sore throat and cold....I really liked the Island which is why I want to go back and hopefully enjoy it more next time.
Fingers crossed I get something booked  Grin

so you didn't notice the torrential rain we had on the first Tuesday of the year then Josie Wink oh and not forgetting the cold nights either. The patio heater was only turned off early April so as you say it didn't turn until April.

OK so we got flooded out one day - which was pretty bad I agree and we nearly ran out of towels for the mopping up but there was also a lot of sun - new year's day was wall to wall sunshine!  Friends who used our flat the second weekend in January said the weather was great but everyone who visited after that through til March was disappointed.

Quite often though the stable autumn/winter weather lasts right through christmas and new year until well into January.

Having said that we're going to visit more in October and November this year hopefully which I think are the nicest winter months.

We were over on the 22nd of Jan and had 3 decent days in the week , my parents were there at the same time and had 3 decent days as well BUT they were there for two weeks, worst weather i have known in 30 trips to Lanza , just great there are so many brilliant people out there that made it for us

Hey there Hever - great to see you again!

I hated the last winter in Lanzarote... and have never seen so much rain here before. But yes, New Years' Day was glorious.

'Ere - overhere... I often find myself apologising for the weather to people when they come over... but they often are still happy. Prime example: When Celtygitl was lasy over we had torrential rain... and on the day we were meeting up weith her we had been battening down the hatches against our old living room flooding out. When we met up CG didn't seem to care and said that they'd still enjoyed the 22 minutes of sun that week (ok... I'm exaggerating on timescale - but you get the idea)

Do you ever apologise for the weather too?

Elle xx
