I read somewhere yesterday that a rumour was going round that they were going to reveal the identity of The Stig.
Did this happen?

Kind of - they went through the unveiling ceremony and it was Michael Schumacker under the hat. He then drove the reasonably priced car craply (new word  ) which proved he wasn't the real Stig. It's repeated at 9.00 pm Friday. |

Kinda thought it would have been a rally driver rather than a Formula One fella.

Read some stuff a couple of months ago saying there were actually a couple of stigs these days and named a touring cars driver as one of them.

I've always thought it was probably a mix of professional drivers - depending on who happens to be free... The secret ID has always got them around multiple sponsorship deals! Can't pill the baseball cap out on the BBC  |

Think one of the previous stigs was outed and they decided to send the car with the stig off a aircraft carrier , the person left or was fired and a new one was bought in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_stig |

I dont believe for a second Elle that it actually is Schumacher but it was still entertaining to watch! And as for the lap time ..... left everything else standing! And dont get me started on the Hamster lol  |

We saw this tonight - pretty obvious in my mind that MS is not the Stig.... All very comic - my suspicion is that Ferrari would have insisted he (or the existing Ferrari drivers - bound by sponsorship so couldn't do it) was perhaps the only guy they would trust....
a) to get the FFX back in one peice
b) guarantee that it would wipe everything else off the board
Great interview - love the respect he had for Ross Braun.... (sp?)
