Car rental

I know there are a couple of posts about this but I couldnt find them  We are heading over on the 12th August for 9 days and are definitely getting a car this time (we both forgot our drivers licence last visit) and I am wondering ought I to book before or wait till I am over there. We are not sure if we want the car for the 9 days, collect and return to airport, or for 5 days. I reckon the cost will determine at the end of the day how long we get the car for so am wondering if anyone can give a recommendation?

Yes book ahead, Mrs F always book Cabrera Medina or Auto Reisen on t'internet.  They're generally the cheapest and both have desks at the airport. 

Quick tip, if there's not much in it cost wise the queue is usualy shorter at Cabrera Medina and even if it's longer it's quicker, the autoreisen system is like taking a mortgage out.  Also when you drop the car back you just drop the keys and leg it at CM, AR check it and prat about for ages.

I guess you'll find hiring for nine and driving yourself to and from the airport will be cheaper than hiring for five and paying for airport taxis.  Plus gives you the flexibility    Thats what we do.

Thanks Flash, I passed that info over to hubby who has decreed sorry, said that we wont get it for the 9 days and not collect from airport. We not exactly sure of the directions to place we are staying this year so best to get a taxi I suppose. Yeah am reckoning Cabrera Medina is where we will get it from, we have used them before.

They're a good bet because no matter what sorry state you take them back in they never quibble.

Of course the other problem with driving from the airport is the alcohol situation on the plane, i do miss getting pi**ed and dozing off onboard
