hey !   it's OK on Canal Street actually, some 'unusual' sights but a very liassez faire atmosphere and just because you go shopping in Tescos doesn'#t mean you have to buy their own brands !  Wink

i agree had quite a few good nights on ANAL TREET when i worked for the travel industry , a lot of the blokes in that industry are sausage jockies so a hell of a lot of nights out were spent in the gay village as they were happy the girls didnt feel threatened and the rest of us just laughed at some of the antics, going on in the bars etc

and i must admit i have never had a bad night and never laughed so much as when i have been in New York New York

i did get propositioned once just round the corner from NY NY when i was having a takeway , must have been eating my sausage wrong or right in his eyes

(for those that don't know, Canal Street is the Gay centre of Manchester)
On another forum some guy was asking which were the "gay friendly" pubs in Chorlton and he got a pretty poor reaction, so he said that he'd stick to Canal Street.
I got in trouble just for asking why Canal Street was sticky.

 Shocked Smokie!  Grin

There's a street in Birmingham, where all the gay pubs/bars are.  Its called Hurst Street - I'm sure Madstock's heard of it  Wink

I went to the theatre near there years ago and hubby came to pick me up afterwards and whilst he was sitting in the car waiting for me a chap in a wedding dress walked past!

Keith, it wasnt you was it?

What a coincidence I went to canal street for the first time the 6th nov, for my birthday! I had never been before an it was abit of an eye opener, but we had a great night, I did get chatted up by a butch lesbian though Grin Grin Grin
