I'm not easily distracted... Oh look - a puppy!

Just want to say thank you to Paul, Nina and Karen for making our evening so lovely.

Once again La Bocaina spoiled us rotten... and we had great food and great company.

Starters.
Bart: Camembert
Me: Duck on noodle salad

Bart's camembert was huge, and extremely tasty... and the jus was lovely with just enough tang to set off the cheese. My duck was cooked really well. I've been complaining since we moved herethat everyone overcooks the duck - which I don't like. But as this was a new menu addition I thought I'd give it a try. I was NOT disappointed.

Mains.
Bart: Lamb shoulder
Me: Tornados rossini

Bart's lamb shoulder was massive... and he couldn't finish it. I had a little taste, and it was really tender, and the sauce it's cooked in is very rich, but lovely.  My rossini was excellent, and the parfait and mushrooms on top set it off really well. The meals came with potatoes and veggies - but we ordered some extra chips. These are more like large pieces of potato... and we only managed to eat a couple of those each.

2 starters, 2 mains, 3 glasses of wine, 2 large beers, 2 bottles of water - €78.80

My only complaint was that my steak was cooked a little more than I would have liked. But I think that is because my idea of "rare" is different to everyone else's, so it's my own fault. I had a chat to Paul - and we agreed that next time I should ask for "blue".

Was also nice to have a good natter to Karen and to Paul in the lounge area after our meal.

It was good to see quite a few tables full in there last night - and especially good to see that all were families (apart from us). The kids all seemed to be enjoying themselves... and the next table had a young boy of about 13 or 14 saying that it was one of his favourite restaurants. I caught that L'Artista was his number one.

Another lovely night at La Bocaina - definitely recommended!

It really was massive Deano. Apparently thelamb is larger at this time of year than in our winter. They weighed one the other day... and it was 1.3kg without the bone (they always remove the bone).

Yes J - we had a lovely evening... were full to bursting afterwards, and we thought it was a good price for fine food too.

Nah - if I'd have been in full on Wigan mode I would have insisted the lamb shoulder be served in a pie... Wink

Another great meal at La Bocaina yesterday..

We started with quaffing some rosé... to build up an appetite of course!

Starters
Me: Baked Avocado with Roquefort and walnuts - simply gorgeous!
Bart: Duck salad
Ali-Oli: Duck Salad
Mr Ali-Oli: Calamari

Mains
Me: Tornados Rossini (fillet steak, cooked very rare. Topped with parfait and mushrooms) - stunning as always!
Bart: Tornados Rossini
Ali-Oli: Breast of chicken
Mr Ali-Oli: He went for two more starters instead of a main meal. Spare ribs, and scallops

We all really enjoyed our food... the service from Nina was excellent as always... and the company was top-notch!
