Hi I'm a newbie! I have booked my flights to Lanzarote on the 8th Dec with Easyjet its our first visit (2 adults and 2 teens) I am not expecting it to be boiling hot, just abit warmer than home Grin
Can anyone recommend a nice hotel/apartment with a heated pool?

HI Miamoo. Welcome to the forum. Either of the two that dixie hsa recommended should turn you up a good deal. But make sure the pool is electrically heated as opposed to any other method

Hi Miamoo and welcome to the Forum.

I hired a Villa with a heated pool in January from http://lanzarotelates.com/ and it was fantastic. They also provided great service and some sound advice.

Hello and welcome to the forum, Miamoo

Sorry, I don't know any hotels which have a heated swimming pool.  I wish I was that familiar with Lanza to advise you.

I normally wouldn't recommend websites, as I didn't think the T&C's on here allowed advertising, but seen as others have, I will.  There is a great website called holiday truths which has reviews of many hotels and has a lot of discussions on various holiday destinations.  You could ask there.  http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/index.php

It's ok Jackie - links are allowed as long as they are not in competition to this site. But of course we do keep an eye out for people plugging their own sites on here if they're not a paying advertiser too xxxxxx

The other one that's nicely laid out is www.ownersdirect.co.uk

I think www.holiday-rentals.co.uk has a bigger selection however as I was using it recently to find accommodation for my friends.

Happy hunting!   Grin

Thanks very much for the replies. Can I also ask which resort you would recommend, I was considering playa blanca as it sounds perfect BUT the cost of the transfer is putting me off, and as we are only going for 5 days I am thinking of staying abit nearer the airport. After LOTS of research I am thinking Matagorda/pocillos area? would this be a good compromise do you think?
Thanks so much for your time x

Hi Miamoo

Our first ever visit to Lanzarote was to one of the Riu hotels at Los Pocillos - far north end of the PDC strip before you get to Matagorda.

I don't know what your budget is and the Riu hotels don't come cheap but the one we stayed in had a heated pool and it was really sheltered from the wind so in November we had breakfast outside every day.  In early December you should be able to get a good deal.  My top tip is to go onto a hotel website and send them an email asking for a price for travel industry staff - half the time they give you a good price and don't even ask for proof of employment.  You might have to back track if they do ask for proof and you don't have any but it's worth a try.  My other half does work for the travel industry by the way.

The clientele are mainly German but as they demand high standards that's not a problem as you can go out and about in the evenings.  I'd try to get bed and breakfast only as there you're not far from the main strip and there is loads of choice.

Hope you have a good time.
