Id recommend this restaurant highly, we ate there twice over the course of 10 days and enjoyed both meals.

Chicken liver parfait for starter was yum
Lamb shoulder was enormous, and pretty tasty too - managed to eat it all and some of the leftovers from my wifes sirloin steak  Grin

Wife liked her scallops and the steak was also good, kids meals were free before 8pm and were much better than the average kids fare (chicken and salmon gougons contained meat/fish rather than the mush you get in some places).

Staff are friendly and I thought prices were reasonable

Thx and bye

You managed to eat ALL the lamb shoulder?! Good man! My hubby couldn't manage it.

I had the steak, like your missus... and loved it too.

Glad the kids enjoyed it too!

I only called in for coffee and ended up staying for tea and it was lovely.
The chunky chips were perfect, properly cooked through to the middle, (which is a bugbear of mine)
Ribs in sauce, nicely cooked and tasty.
I reckon it's a must anytime you have a visit to the health centre.
I also spotted that they have a "Duck with Noodles".
So that's me sorted for next time.

The duck is excellent smokie. I always moaned that every restaurant doing duck here overcooked it - but Paul's is cooked perfectly! Hot duck on a bed of chilled noodles with veggies (you're on about the one on the starter menu yes?)

Yes, I do mean the starter.
I tend to eat a big brekkie and probably because I always skip lunch, I'm always ready to eat early on.
However, I don't always want a huge tea so I'd be quite happy with a starter and then if I could manage it, a dessert.
You know me, I prefer pretty simple food and all the "Brandy Jus" and "Chorizo Sauce" is a bit wasted on me, so yesterday's"Ribs" starter and a side order of chips was enough that I didn't even ask about the desserts.
So I reckon, next time for me it'll be the duck starter with noodles and no chips and then I can find out if the desserts really are as good as I've heard.

Then you'll enjoy the duck. I've never had the desserts... but I'm sure they'll be suitably gorgeous!

I know that they used to serve a marvellous raspberry topped home made cheesecake and the topping was superb.
Sometimes when you buy a cheesecake the topping has "set" into a semi solid slab, but theirs is freshly added after you order it, so it's just perfect and they've converted me into buying the stuff for the topping for using at home.
