Thanxs for that Overhere - me thinks I'll exchange my money when I'm out there as usual - well I'd normally use my Nationwide card but they are now charging so not sure if they are the best to use anymore

Karen, you're not going to be carrying large quantities of Sterling from UK then Euros here are you? Why not just use the hole in the wall here, and put the tenner or so you lose out on over your holiday down to insurance against the risk of losing the lot in one go!

John - no didn't quite type what my brain was thinking der!!! we usually bring some just in case and then OH keeps hold of seperate to my cards - you can never be too careful!! but have just remembered now you mention insurance that Nationwide were doing free insurance for customers so must look ito that - thanxs John - for raising the insurance word and reminding me x

Hi Oldie-girl, it depends on who your UK bank is, and the day and time of day you actually change, it's been up and down a couple of cents this week. Frankly, I#d look at how many euros you get for £100 from your UK bank, and assume its withing about 2 euros of that, plus or minus. Over a holiday, the difference isn't going to be much more than a round of drinks, so relax
