Can anyone suggest for my daughter a venue playing R&B (modern version, not Rory Gallagher etc) this week anywhere in Lanzarote. Have car will travel.

I don't know of anywhere now. Soul Sister in Puerto del Carmen used to do it... but it's long gone now.

Maybe try taking her down to "Jungle" in Playa Blanca... as they often have live entertainment... and R&B would be right up their street. They call it "Musica Negra" though.

Good luck John!

Thanks, Elle, where is Jungle?  I'm in PB but don't get out much!  My daughter and her boyfriend (both in their 30's) will not be taking me, my tastes got fossilised in the 1970s!

Ah.. sorry John. It's the Spanish place at the bottom of the stairs of CC Papagayo - just behind Playa Dorada.

Tell her to try "One Bar" too... which is at the opposite end of the Marina to all the other bars and restaurants. I would think that would be a great venue. The owner is usually sat by the bar on his laptop, and he speaks English. So does the lady that we normally see behind the bar. HIs English is better though.

I'm not a huge fan of R&B either... but it is quite popular with the younger ones (says me who is still in her 30s... just)
