Hi Flooey, Cheers for the warm welcome, we did have a smashing time in Lanza, and "it is lovely" as you say, I could quite easily pack up and move there, we have fallen in love with Playa Blanca and felt at home from day 1! There was just my wife (Penny) and myself (Mike) left our 2 teenage sons at home!!!! We did do a fair amount of things, albeit some of the touristy stuff, like the grand tour of Lanza (which we did when we holidayed in Fuerte) we just wanted to take in all the scenery again and not have to drive ourselves (my occupation), we only used a taxi once! when we had too much of a nice time supping down loads of great cerveza at Cafe Del Mar, along with some wonderful Tapa's like Papas Bravas and such!! From there we then bought too much shopping and couldn't carry it the 20-25 mins walk back to the villa...we sobbered ourselves up by skiny dipping so we could get back into town again, a damn good meal at La Bocaina (as mentioned before) and on to the bars...we were a bit worse for wear that night/morning, finally arriving back to the villa at 0530ish!! We, as you quessed, walked everywhere we wanted to go, stopping at one or two of the many tourist restuarants along the prom for liquid refreshments and maybe a Lanza fry-up (which aint bad!) and to take in the scenery across the water, (which its name eludes me) to Lobos and Feurte and to stroll on the prom to Marina Rubicon and plonk our butts at Del mar, and maybe do a bit of shopping in all those cheap shops around there!!! I wouldn't spend that amount of dosh on clothes..even if I had it!! Ha ha. We know living there is gonna be different to holidaying there or anywhere really...unless very wealthy! But its just the way of life that appeals to us, is it more laid back? I suppose its what you make of it, which is quite diverse. All I can say is we love the Canaries Isles, they are all so beautiful but different from each other, I missed out on a trip to La Gomera because of a water skiing accident when we stayed in Los Gigantes, Tenerife last year in July, from what my wife and youngest son told me about it, its worth a visit or stay, I will get get there 1 day, but our favourite Ilse is Lanza! by far! We look forward to more chat on these forums. Mike & Penny.x
