ok so doing this for smokie (or anyone else bored enough to read my drivel) thought it might be interesting to highlight my performances at footy/badminton to keep him posted on how im getting on over here.

Sundays - Barlow FC (sunday league 11 a side)
Mondays - Badminton (recreational - usually 4 players, 2 simultaeneous singles games)
Wednesdays - (Dynamo Dildo's - 5 a side at powerleague)
Thursdays - (Athletico Pathetico - 5 a side at powerleague)

*NOTE* - i had nothing to do with naming the powerleague teams - always goes down a treat phoning the ladies who run the desk and asking for our kick off times  Embarrassed

Wednesday 18/11/09

Ok so last nites game didnt go to plan - we lost 9-7 to "three lions" - a bunch of quick 19 year olds who all think they are ronaldo. fortuantely they arent but they  are still a good team. did well and i scored from a quick 3 pass move straight from kick off. after that it was a close game til half time and we were 3-2 down. 2nd half started and the game was a lot more open. anyway we went 5-2 down and then one of their players who was the last man hacked me down on the edge of their box after id skinned 3 players (which i assure you doesnt happen very often) and the ref didnt do anything. He then proceded to send me off (well a sin bin for 2 minutes)!!!!! I may have asked him innocently if he was f***ing blind but it was outrageous that he didnt give the decision when i would gain no advantage from throwing myself on the floor when one on one with the keeper. anyway i apologiesed to the ref for the language but still, he must have been f***ing blind so i feel my question was justified. after my little touchline period i was fitting to get out their and put myself about in an aggressive manner. being the cool headed sort of person i am i decided to put the aggression into playing with a bit more assertiveness about me but the other team werent cheaters (or d***heads) so i didnt want to find myself putting the boot in on the innocents as they had done nothing wrong (even they were telling the ref he was a joker for sending me off). so it was 9-3 to them  when i got back on and we put an absolute masterclass of football on and tore them apart, really good passing football and i scored 3 goals as we pulled it back to 9-7 but just ran out of time. think i bagged 6 on the night in total and one was a really good solo effort sending players the wrong way stopping and starting and then twisting my foot as i put it in the bottom corner. hurt a lot at the time but played on (being the big hard man i am what else was i to do). felt ok for the rest of the match but i think i must have been running funny/compensating for the pain as my knee after i got home has felt like its about to pop out its joint. thankfully today was a day of work as i havent been able to walk properly on it.

so all in all a good game spoiled by a bit of stupidity from me and a bad ref. I cant complain if the refs start sending players off every time they say something to them, but somehow i imagine that isnt going to be the case. LeFtY performance rating = 5/10

I think that if I remember correctly it was Jackie Charlton who had this conversation with a referee,

(Jackie Charlton)   "What would you do if I called you a cheating ba**ard" ?
(Referee)             "I'd send you off".

(Jackie Charlton)  "What would you do if I just thought it" ?
(Referee)            "Then I couldn't do anything".

(Jackie Charlton)  "Then I think you're a cheating ba**ard".

No, can't agree with that.
Robbie Savage might have been a bit of a "thrush" (an irritating ****) but he ended up getting more sinned against than sinning himself.
There are many worse people in football than him.

"Jealous? of someone who looks like you savage? - anyone with hair like that should have breasts as well thats all im saying"

Look at him, he's just so chin-able  (yep its a real word... honest Wink)

ill agree tho smokie there is worse in football than him. its just revenge against the others is more satisfying than humorous.

Thursday 19/11/09

We were facing a team who had dropped out the league before it started (first game of a new season this one), unfortunately injury ruled me out of the friendly they made us play instead but we get a 10-0 win regardless of result so should be top of the league now unless someone got spanked in one of the other games.

Get some Ribena drunk.
Any decent sports scientist will tell you there's no better placebo than Ribena.
