I don't think Lefty would have scored that goal, it was right footed, he'd have probably done something really, really special to score that with his left foot.
Mind you, I've seen him play passes as good as that one.(and mean them)

Ive scored that exact goal at uni in a 5 a side game only with my left peg and instead of jumping, swivelling/pivoting on my right peg and hitting the proper top corner - and the keeper i was playing against actually made an effort to save mine (no chance of course). but i suppose that one wasnt bad either Grin Grin Grin

Shouldn't have been allowed, the ball was above head height Cool

lol - we play that rule at powerleague but at uni we got away with overhead height balls. think i prefer to allow it to go high but at powerleague they dont let you as it apparently it would have affected how much they pay for insurance or something like that Roll Eyes

ok so after 8 weeks of maltesers eating and tv watching and not much else i find myself hopefully over the foot injury and ready to play again. wednesdays games were cancelled so had to wait til last nite and we had 2 matches on!! just to ease myself bk in slowly Roll Eyes anyway so the injury they reckoned was ligament damage so 2 months is long enough for me and thought id play my frst games of 2010 Cheesy

25/02/10 Athletico * game one

we had to play against a team who had just battled for a 7-7 draw so were looking tired. nice easy ish game against tired legs vs our fresh legs you think? nice win against a team who had obviously had a tough match and wouldnt have a lot left in the tank? wrong. lost about 9-5 and deserved as much. we had a good start and finish to the match but unfortunately thats only 10% of the game so we rightfully lost and by a couple of goals. although i did nearly finish the match on a high scoring one of these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2ywVLaJtNw

25/02/10 * game two

so we got a game against a team who hadnt played b4 this match so by the above ruling we should have been warmed up and hit the ground running in the 2nd match you would think? our game ready levels against the side who havent warmed up to game tempo should give us the advantage right? well, in this case correct Wink managed a 14-12 win after letting them bk into it from 10-6 up. but we battled away to get to hold on and it was made all the more sweeter by the fact they threw a strop at teh end and just started kicking us when the ball had gone, so serves em right. bunch of tos**rs. and i think that win sealed afety for another season. yay, go athletico.
foot seems to have made it through both games ok but thats more than can be said for the ol' crown jewels that took a defence clearance at full power from about 2 yards away. ouch my f'in boll***S doesnt do the pain that i felt justice Cheesy still managed to come back on a nd get 3 goals tho Grin

3/3/10 - dynamo dildos

first game bk for this team tonight and theyve lost every match since i stopped playing 8 weeks back Roll Eyes so it looks like were relegated but thats the way it goes some time i suppose. anyway onto tonights match, we played a side with 6 men compared to our 5 (so they had one sub - we didnt Sad) and that lasted minutes til one of our lads blocked a shot from an opponent as he hit it and the oppositions knee popped out its joint! Undecided not good!!!! poor lad got carried off and into an ambulance i presume but apparently it happened to him about 3 times before. hopefuly he'll b bk running round soon. so it was 5 each then and was a relatively easy match - once we started playing properly - i managed to bag 2 good goals, one that took 2 deflections and went through the keepers legs (not my greatest but worth the same number of goals as all the others), and one trademark backheeled goal (i must get one every 2 games at least - not to toot my own horn or anything Cool)
we won 6-4 and got our first points of the season. again not tooting my own horn but i like to think that means my value to the team is somewhat important Cool - LeFtY rating = 7.5/10

3/3/10 *match 2 (again Roll Eyes)

good game followed by a not so good game - we were playing top of the league who had won every game they played and we obviously were the mirror image of them so you can imagine how it would go, and it did - but it nearly didnt. i was pretty goosed by the time we got into the match after having played one match and playing against the standard of players we were facing (all pacey and tricky wingers by the looks of things - only problem was that they could tackle a bit as well Roll Eyes anyway the first half passed by and we were about 6-0 down and i should have scored about 7. i hit the post/or crossbar 6 times!! and their keeper was putting in a brad friedel shift Angry i couldnt have played further from the first performance if i had tried but the fitness aint back yet so im blaming that. must have got to the point where i should have had 9 goals by the end of the match but managed a paltry 2 in a 11-3 loss, they deserved it and we were all in the latter stages fo cramps and probably would never have beaten them but it wasnt a 11-3 game. next time, although well have to get promoted twice for that Tongue LeFtY rating = 2/10

VERY sore calf now and got a 10pm match 2moro night Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry i hate the 10pm ones - we never win and its past midnight when i finally get my head down to go to sleep. but ill change my attitude b4 game time - dont wana go against the sport pychology principles Grin

4/3/10 - Athletico Pathetico

10pm games - god i hate them. we were 5-4 up at half time and had switched off after about 20 mins of the first half. they were crap and we followed suit for the rest of the game. first match of the new season and we lost - i reckon thats gotta be the 4th season in a row we lost our first game. ended up losing 10-8 i think. managed to score 3 (or 4, cant remember Roll Eyes), managed to get through the game without the lasting effects of last nites matches on my calf's being an issue - man they were sore this morning!! anyway enough whinging - had a few good moves in the match - one superb one-two with a lad who has recently found some shooting boots after 9 years of being a defender and finding row z with all his shots (no matter if from 20 yards or 2 yards!) which he played to me and i sneaked a smart looking backheel to leave him one on one with the keeper about 2 yards out the area (remember its 5 a side so only 5-ish yards from the goal) and he strode majestically back into his old habits by putting the ball into orbit taking out a bird and knocking a 747 heading to manchester airport off course. LOL'd my ass off. then told him to stop ficking about and put ducking ball in the net all serious like Cheesy
anyway bad start to the season but we should be on a 7pm match next thursday so we'll hopefully get some points on the board Smiley
