Last night Bart and I were chatting... and I said I might change my username (formerly Flooey) to my own name... so I did. Flooey is now a goner... and I take her place as myself.
So... here's a bit about me for any new members that don't know.
I am Elle (der!) and live in Playa Blanca with my fella (Bart in this forum) and our black Labrador cross doggie, Guido. We moved over in Sept 2006 and love our life here.
Our core business is a successful web design and marketing company -
www.gandy-draper.com which supplies to clients here in Lanzarote, as well as the UK and the United States.
Because nobody should advise people on marketing unless they can do it themselves, we wanted to prove it could be done here in Lanzarote too - with that in mind (and after a long wine fuelled chat late one night in Playa Blanca), this very Canary Nightlife website was born. We own, manage and 100% moderate this website - and are chuffed as punch with how well it has done since it's beginnings in February 2007.
For fun we built a blog for people moving to Lanzarote -
www.lanzaroterelocation.co.uk which has turned into quite a monster and is used by a lot of existing residents too. It's a non commercial venture as we don't sell advertising on it (we fund it through affiliate links instead) and we take pride in that as such, it is unbiased... and also gives it "warts an' all" approach as we're actually not trying to sell you a house, or car, or business, or anything (although if you order a website from us we won't say no).
Hobbies: We love spending time with friends... and hardly a week goes by when we haven't got someone round for dinner and drinkies. A number of members of this forum have
suffered / endured enjoyed a night at the Gandy-Drapers too!
We also like going for "weasel beers" with friends... although haven't managed that much recently due to workload. For anyone that doesn't know... Weasel Beers are drinks that you scoot off for when really you should be doing something else like work or housework.
