OK, then... let's get on to the proper business of talking footie!  And no, I don't mean that funny sport the Americans play... I'm talking PROPER football.

So... who do you support?

And who do you think'll win The Premiership this season?

I only really follow England with any interest.

But if pushed I´d have to say I have an affinity with Wigan, being my home town.

Was a big day for me to be able to take my kids to see them play Derby in the premiership at Pride Park. When I was the age they were for that game I was watching them play non-league football...

LMAO Altyfc,
Birmingham City and Man Utd.

Seamermate, have you been drinking at dinnertime again.  Tongue

Bart,
I remember us playing in a pre season friendly at Wigan the year you entered the league.
I use the term 'remember' very loosely as I got arrested as the teams ran out for being DAD.
I payed a return visit shortly after to the magistrates court.  Shocked

I remember us (Altrincham) playing Wigan when they were in a lower tier of the league, the year Spurs got booted from the FA Cup.  We beat Wigan, and went on to play Spurs because they go re-instated.

I also remember the year Alty played Birmingham in the FA Cup (1985?).  A famous victory for us, that day... it was the first time a non-league club had beaten a team from the top flight (Birmingham were then bottom of the old 1st division) in the cup, away from home.  I'm not sure it's been done since.

Ahhh... those were the days....

No no no Altyfc I will have nightmares tonight.
One of the darkest days in our history and no doubt one of your brightest.
I can remember staying behind and clapping your team but it still hurts to remember the shame I felt at the time.
Thanks for bringing back the memories lol.

Seamermate, I am a realist and Man U will walk the league.

Awww CG - no stuffed cheesy crust then?  Now you know how we feel lol - only you will get one before I do. Ooh but wait a minute... we've got sunshine all year round! Ha ha ha ha!

We're off to watch the footie at Wax at the weekend. Me and the ladies will probably sit outside sipping vino - whilst Alan & the lads cheer on Wigan!  Grin Okay... Alan will - the others might cheer on Man U lol.

My team of choice? UD Lanzarote of course! Although my heart is still in Pompey. Good old Harry Redknapp!

Well been brought up following the Gunners as Dad was born in North London ... but must say I LOVE THE GAME!!!!
I mean we are living in the most perfect time for football ... plenty of coverage ... plenty of interesting games ... I really thought that this year would fall to Anfield but having had the start of the season that we have had I must say that I hope Arsenal will hold on to the top and keep it there for the long winter months to come!
