hi everyone

just back from a week in lanzarote we stayed in playa blanca and was so disappointed by the food we were beginning to get fed up of spending money only to be let down by poor food or sour /cold or overpriced food when we finally came across the irish anvil bar , what a life saver

the chef here must be commended as should paddy and margaret coffey (the owners) on keeping a fantastic bar , ps thanks paddy for the 2 pints of bulmers before we left on sunday sound fella  Wink

for starters their anvil breakfast 5* absolutely lovely and even proper butter whereas everywhere else is just olive oil proper sausages properly cooked and the best bit of all was proper tea  Grin

then we had steak there 2 nights (im a big fella and can normally finish a steak no problems but even i struggled to finish it  Shocked Tongue ) and an anvil burger on another 2 nights the burger is a meal all by itself without the chips and salad etc

anyway if anyone out there is planning on a trip to playa blanca then this is a place you must visit

staff   -- friendly helpful and lively

bar   -- spotless, nice decor, live sport on all of the 6+ tvs , internet access and wifi available

exterior  -- well kept with lots of seating at the sea front

very highly recommended

Hola Liam - and welcome to the forum. Everyone raves about the food at the Anvil - which is probably why they are doing so well!

Glad you had a great time!

Always work for good, reliable sparkies! Save up your pennies first though... to tide you over until you can establish your reputation honey. Brush up on your Spanish too - you'll need it in your line of work. xx

But now that you have joined, we'll be easy to find now and you can read the bar and restaurant reviews before you return and avoid the places that aren't up to scratch and help other people to do the same.
There are a few of us on here who do comment on "places worth revisiting" for good food, I wish more people did, it'd save you having to guess.
I'm sure that all the crowd at "The Anvil" get a boost when they see a big "Thank You" like you've given.
