Last piece of food eaten was lunch - cozido a Portuguesa. A traditional portuguese meal consisting of different meats, variety of vegetables and potatoes. Theres chicken, pig, pigs ear, and various parts of the pig in the meat. You can also mix other meat. Theres also chourizo type meat with different meats in there. I have always liked the farinheira which is the orange chourizo and its made of pigs fat, wine, pepper and another ingredient. It has also been hanged and smoked. For vegetables you have carrots, cabbage, potatoes, turnips and rice. I just had potatoes with mine. It is deliccccccccccccccious!! I love it. See photos below for a comparison to what it all looks like

That looks good, Ana. I'm not sure about the pig's ear though! Have you heard of the English saying? To make a pig's ear out of something is to mess it up lol. We have "chorizo" here in spain which sounds just like your chourizo. It's a real favourite!
Anyway... last thing I ate was a fried egg sandwich for lunch - and now I'm starving. We were in Old Town Puerto del Carmen until half an hour or so ago... and all the smells coming from the restaurants was a real tease!

I've just eaten some peanuts to go with my red wine but not sure they count as real food!

It truely is. I've never heard of that saying. I hadn't actually noticed it was a pigs ear before whilst eating, as its just a bit of fat. There is a variety of chourizos that are made here and are quite tasty, I am sure it is similiar of where you live. The last piece of food I ate was an apple.

Yes it's returned from the 'dark side' Celtygirl thanks to Flooey. Ana, keep your eyes off my sheep. We don't want any special dishes cooked up using the Madstock lamb thank you. Keith.
