Hello all,
Me and Mate are off to Playa Blanca next week for a much needed relaxing holiday after a tough year for us both. Had a look at some websites on places to go in Lanzarote (As we've never been before) and came across the Irish Anvil pub. Looks a great place and I'm sure we will pop in for a pint but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they would be staying open late on Sun 8th feb to show the Superbowl? If not - can anyone recommend a bar that shows sports that may be showing it?

Many thanks

Hi Lee - have just been to see Aoife from the Anvil a little earlier today (great to see the bar full again as per usual). But anyway - I have just phoned, and she is unsure at the moment. She says they only stay open until 2am... so if it's on before that, then great. But if it's later than that, then it's unlikely.

If not, the other bars likely to, would be Wax Bar in CC Papagayo, and Bar Arena by the Natura Palace Hotel.

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Hello Bob & Ellie.

Thankds very much for the replies. It starts about 10.30pm-11pm and would finish about 2-3ish am so may be able to see a little of it at least. Thanks for asking for me. Will still be popping in for a couple of pints throughout the week anyway. Really looking forward to it as my first time in Lanzarote. (Fly out tomorrow - Yeehaa!!!)

Best wishes & thanks again

You'll enjoy Playa Blanca Lee! The weather is a bit naff right now - and I think Flash posted on here earlier that it will stay naff until midweek before brightening up. So I hope you get some sunshine! But if not... then the bars will look after you Grin

When you get into the Anvil - introduce yourself to Aoife (pronounced Eefer) and ask her again about the superbowl. I'm sure she'll try and pop a telly on just for you if there isn't one already on it for you.

Nice one Ellie.
I checked the weather earlier and it said a bit of rain today/tomorrow but brightening up from wednesday onwards.
I think we will be popping in to the Anvil tomorrow nite for a couple of drinks so will be sure to introduce ourselves.

Thanks again for the info.

Cheers
