I thought I'd risk giving another chinese buffet a go...hopefully this time without wearing the toilet out!  Embarrassed
So I gave the hong kong 2 chinese buffet a whirl...it's next to tito's at the start of the strip (near cardiac hill). It's not a massive place but it was packed when I walked in at about 8.45pm. I treated forth with caution but was encouraged by all the food being piping hot. There was about 30 odd dishes to choose from including standard starters like prawn crackers, prawn toast and peking duck (although they'd run out of pancakes!). There were a couple of soups available and then a lot of various mains and different types of rice, noodles, choi mein and chips to accompany them with.
I'd say the dishes ranged from ok to very good. I particularly liked the cantese style sweet and sour chicken, king prawn in black bean sauce and chicken curry - chinese stylee.  I got a bit carried away and had a couple of plate full. Ice cream, cream caramel or an orange were also included in the buffet for afters but I passed as I was stuffed.
I was happy to see a couple of local canarian families come in to eat then one of the waiters as I was leaving helped himself from the buffet.
Bill came to 9.80 euro's including a small coke - sorry should mention all you can eat buffet is 6.95 for adults and 4 something for kids. I'll give it 8/10 for decent grub at an excellent price.

We're always a bit cautious with Chinese all-you-can-eat buffets - in fact, we've never been to one here or abroad! I just don't trust the food is to a good enough standard.  We don't really go in them full stop, as Dave has a delicate tummy.

Hiya Rich...
The Hong Kong is the only "buffet" Chinese that I use on the Strip. As ya say, for the price the grub ain´t bad at all....
Another good one (none buffet though) is up near Centro. Turn left after Club928 and its the one just past the 2 kebab houses; sorry mate, can´t recall the name.. Steve from Friends bar uses that one quite a lot....

Sam has been there a couple of times this week. He went for the 3 euro buffet... where they give you a tub and you fill it once.

He can't rate it highly enough.

We've stayed at the Balcon del Mar a few times, Sam.  We never went in that Chinese, as there are so many to chose from, we never knew which one to go in, and Dave's stomach is quite delicate when it comes to Chinese food, so if it's even slightly dodgy - like at a buffet - we're very wary.

......oops, I've already said that above!!  Lips sealed

We tried and was very impressed , GQB its not a buffet and is piping hot, also we noticed when at the flora that a hell of a lot of people from there and i presume the balcon del mar used it for take aways , in saying that there was one down the road called Wok which has since shut which was as good as any ones bar the yang sing and a smalll locals one in Manchester

tend to stick clear of the buffets as always had bad ones apart from our local one in Knutsford would rather pay a little bit more for fresh
