Hi, well that was a quick week in CT. We were 7 nights in Ficus apts AI and it was just brill , beer on tap 12hrs a day and hot sun most of the day. Now the down side, although we were AI we still wanted to see what was on at night outside all we found was closed bars and shops a ghost town , on one bar we found open the owner was quick to see our AI wristband and said the we were killing the bartrade by not going out and spending but at 10 euro for a large beer and a Smirnoff ice i asked him you are killing yourself with those prices all in all i did enjoy myself but found it too quiet.

but by being in that bar in the first place obviously shows that you were out spending!

Caslau - how many bars did you go in? I have asked around many bar owners and nobody seems to know of anywhere that supplies drinks for such a high price.(apart from Barberellas)

The vast majority of the bars sell a large beer for 1.50 - all day every day. Smirnoff ice ranges from 2.50 - 5.00 so thats a bit of a lottery i dont know how much one of these would cost you in the UK, so i cant comment if that is expensive or not.

The owner of the bar is partially right in saying that AI is not helping things around the island but expensive prices dont either.AI does  keep the majority of the customers in the hotel most of the time and this affects every aspect of the islands trade - not just the bars and restaurants - hence it is quite on an evening because the AI´S are drinking their beer on tap for 12 hours a day.

Please name the place where you had the bad experience - this would at least give them the chance to defend themselves!

Whoa everyone we  DID really enjoy ourselves like most folks i dont like feeling i have been ripped off.In answer to Bob here in Glasgow i will pay around £3 for a PINT of lager and about the same for a Smirnoff ice, the bars i went into were Legends,Bluebells to watch the football and a few drinks (large beer and SI 3.50) and free shots as our team won i also went into Steptoes and the small bar at the bottom of the road from Ficus i think it was called The British bar. We also used a couple of others along the beach from La cucharas to Playa Bastian when out for an  after late brekky stroll. The bar where i went and was charged 10 euro was when you cross the wasteland from Ficus turn right and the first bar on your right (next to a small police station ?) Sorry but i cant remember the name.PS we also went into the British cafe where my wife said it was the BEST cuppa or is it (mugga ha ha!) she had all week as i was made with HOT water not lukewarm which just seems to be the spanish way

I suspect I may know the name of this bar ... having seen directions to it posted somewhere else.  I may be wrong though so I'll keep quiet for the moment.

The directions suggest that it is my bar!!! Seeing as we charge 1.50 a pint and 2.00 for a sminoff ice i think you may have mistaken us with someone else. I certainly have not had a discussion with any customers during my time in here about how expensive the prices were - we are well known for being pretty good value for money - ask Bob! Cheesy

Thats what I thought Steve, but I've seen enough reviews to know that your bar is normally highly praised!  Do you actually pay Meat???  Wink
