Hi everyone and thank you for all your greetings.

I live in Palm Mar which is the other side of Montana Guaza from Los Cristianos.  It is a residential village and is still being developed.  Fortunately where we are, 3 minutes walk from the sea all the building work is finished, apart from to come in the future some bars along the seafront.  No hotels are allowed to be built here.

We have Los Cristianos, Las Galletas and Playa de las Americas short drives away, thats if you want it lol lol   Although nice for the shops every now and then.

It will really be another 5 years before the village finished.

Have many of you lived in the Canary Islands long, we have been here just coming up for three years.

Bart and I have been in Lanzarote for a little over a year. We're in Playa Blanca, and about a 15 minute stroll to the sea. Our town is the newest of the 3 major resorts on the Island, and like your town... there's plenty of building work going on.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Unfortunately I live in England but it's a dream of mine to one day live in the canaries.
Where do you come from originally Sunny?

Hi Keith

Thanks for your reply.  I am originally from Fareham, Hampshire, then we moved to London, Putney/Fulham when I was little.  I worked frantically in the City for many years and then upped sticks on my own and moved to Weymouth in Dorset, where I met Dave my now hubby, we both then moved to Devon, a little village outside Brixham where we tried semi retirement for a couple of years before moving here to Palm Mar in Tenerife.  We absolutely love it.

Although lately we are seeing so many people having to go back to the UK because their so called "dream" has not worked.  That is why we had a three year plan before we moved here, and we are a BIT (lol) older so we are semi-retired.

Whereabouts are you from and what do you do.  Sorry if I sound nosey but just interested.

Cheers

Life's full of coincidences isn't it sunny? And isn't it a small world?

There's a user in this forum called "Unders", and she's a Fareham lass. You already know I was brought up in Gosport before eventually settling in Portsmouth.

Fareham was a town of firsts for me... first smoke... first drink... first job.  I always liked the village feel to the place, even though these days it's actually quite a bustling town. My maternal grandparents still live there now.

Anyway... must run... we're off to see the Halloween decor down at the Wax Bar.
