I agree with your comment on prices, we had one and left (with a lighter wallet).

Think it used to be called The Londoner a few years ago. Agree about the prices - had one drink - haven't been back!!

Yeah - it's a real shame. They've just got greedy. I think they rely on the tourists to get trapped... because I don't know any residents who drink there more than once! I don't mind so much when eating in Mamma Rossa's, because the price and standard of the food makes up for it. But for drinks alone... forget it!

We're going to be looking for somewhere nice for 7 of us to go out for a meal, nice surroundings and they must have a veggie option (not lasagne or cheese/broccoli bake). We want to go for one really big night to celebrate xmas and if they have some nice entertainment (live singer/comedian/live muisc - nothing heavy) that would be really good. If you know the 'opera house' at the top of the Kasbah, GC then similar to that...any ideas??

The restaurants don't have regular live entertainment... more like special events. But I'd recommend La Bocaina for a special meal. Their menus are in this forum somewhere... or on their website at www.labocainarestaurant.comI'm booked up there for my birthday in November. Lovely!!! I don't know the Kasbah unfortunately, sorry hon! Failing that - anywhere at the Marina (except El Commendatore in my opinion) or along the seafront. Enjoy! xxx

HI Badger!
Waether has beena bit iffy lately, but shuld start settling down again now. Hope so anyway! But one thing's for sure - it'll be better than where you're coming from anyway hon.
Enjoy the Bocaina next week. Friends of ours did last night's Xmas Party Bash there.
Your car hire company should already have it tuned for you... but if not, then look out for UK Away FM, which is the only live English Speaking station on the Island. You're not going to get anything like UK commercial radio, but the music is ok and the DJs are friendly enough. A couple of the members of this forum listen to it online too. Not sure of thr frequency... but Goggling the name of the station should bring it up.

4 more sleeps... Any feedback from the La Bocaina party night? Have been monitoring the weather and it still looks a bit ropey albeit much better than the UK lol...is it right that Playa Blanca has a climate of its own and despite what is happening elsewhere on the island PB can avoid it and be nice?

NO feedback from the party night yet... but that could be telling in itself Yes, PB tends to have its own little weather patterns. It can also vary greatly within the town itself. I know that sometimes the weather at my end of PB is quite different to at John's end. Not long now Badger badger badger badger badger (sorry... but that's what I always think of when I see your username)

Just for you elle... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIyixC9NsLI Nickname was created 9 years back by one of my colleagues at p*lice training school...it stuck and now even the crims ask after badger lol... 3 sleeps... Is PB more likely to be sunny than elsewhere?? We stayed in Costa Teguise in July about 3 years back and was amazed at how overcast it was until after lunchtime...then a trip to PDC in the morning showed that to be sunny...strange!!

Aha! So you knew exactly what I meant I'll have that stuck in my head all night now The law of averages say yes, it will be sunnier - but it's not massively different. The clouds tend to burn off by mid / late morning anyway. But you can still burn through the cloud... so do be careful! It's been overcast here for the last few days... but with blue skies in the early/ mid afternoon. We're doing the sun dance for you to see if that helps lol xxx
