I was talking to a Thomas Cook flight attendant the other day about how much traffic they seem to be pushing towards Turkey.... (Bulgaria is Europe now).

With all the pay cuts and austerity measure throughout Europe. How long is it before they start to come under pressure to put more effort into keeping our Euros in Europe? They're totally profit driven and don't care about the effect they have on the wider European, or local, economy.

As for the business model - I can see them eventually going down the expedia or ebookers route (the big ones, the small ones will die), and for sure the high street travel agent will be a thing of the past. I would never walk into a travel agent - and looking at my son looking at flights and holidays, it's barely an option to him, he's seen them, but he'd never use them - he'll go straight to the Internet. I give the travel agent a generation at most...

booked flights for next year jet2 going out thomas cook coming back,that gave me the best prices and options on how long i wanted to stay we got 11 nights and good flight times. where before it was 7 or 14 especially up here in the n/east.

and wont book the villa till say back end of january to get the best deal.
