Just a quick introduction, I'm Ozzie (formerly Oz on Lanzaroteisland site). I have a predilection for Lanzarote, Restaurants and an Indian restaurant in Ayr called the Taj.
Looking forward to meeting/talking to old acquaintances from the 'other side'.
Going out shortly and looking forward to visiting some old haunts, Bodecos, Emmas Cantina and the new(ish) Valentinos.
Heard that bars and restaurants are suffering due to All inclusive. Shame it reflects on all of us.

Yeah - some places are suffering... but AI is only one of the reasons. Some areas are hit more than others too.

Your favourite places should be ok though... simply because of the top quality! Next time you're over, let me know... and I promise to meet you for a pre-dinner drinkie and a natter at Emma's. xxxx

Celtygirl's here! She'll be in to say hello I'm sure. Will does have a nosey... but he doesn't post. Had dinner with him and his missus last time they were over. HThey had a little baby girl this summer too - isn't that lovely?

Hi Dixie et al,

Didn't mention Russels as Vian died last year. Saw him in October and he shut up shop while he went into hospital for tests. The next thing we heard was that he passed away Xmas time.
He will be sadly missed by customers and locals as I understand he had a stall at Teguise market selling his 'pastries' to raise money, for SARA I think.
Just had a e-mail from my mate who said the 4 seasons and the Symposia have shut. At this rate tthere will only be Emmas Cantina and Bodecos left in Cala Teide.
Busy wading through the forum at present. Iv'e missed a lot it seems.

Thanks Gill, so far so good (touch wood)   
I've been meaning to pop in for a while but at the mo, trying to cram all my working hours into a 4 day week..so I travel back north on a thursday and get a long weekend, before heading back down here at daft O'Clock on a monday morning !

I'm starting to get a handle on things now so should be more regular again ! 

Like I say, all being well we should be back over there for a week towards the end of september

as for you mentioning the four seasons shutting down a place i never went in.

have you tried bellenies oz? or the english tea rooms they are all in your vicinity.

a great restaurant is la casa del parmigano near the tennis courts at fariones.

not to far calla alegranza is the address.

tell me danny did you ever try that woodleys or  taberna de nino?

or have you not been over since they were mentioned,noticed the place is set up

for them on here (woodleys) to put there menus on but nothing,wonder if elle knows why.
