Well I sincerely hope to be this Friday.  Flight cancelled from Dublin this morning.  Spent all tuesday getting to hotel beside airport to have flight cancelled this morning and then spent most of wednesday getting from the airport home.  Have managed to book flights from Belfast leaving Friday morning so have to spend tomorrow getting to Belfast.  Hope to be in Anvil by lunch time Friday.  Fingers crossed....

What a bummer!!!

My fingers are crossed for your Friday flight and be sure to post about the Anvil as I want to know if it's still as good.

I pop in whenever I'm in the area,. Keith... as it's always a pleasure to see Aoife. The Anvil is one of the constants here... always top notch! It was at the Anvil that we ended up at silly o'clock on New Year's Eve night / morning on our first New Year of living here. It was Guido's first night out... and he got lots of fuss - he was so teeny then!

CMD - hope you make it love! xxx

Yahoo made it eventually!!!!  spent thursday getting to belfast from Dublin on an express train that took forever.  Was in belfast airport at 4 fri morning and sitting on plane at half 6.  Never want to experience a take off like it ever again.  Closed runway at 7 coz too foggy and icy.  De iced plane as we sat in it and at 8 tried to take off.  On the 3rd attempt managed it, but it was blizzard conditions.  Hats off to that pilot.  Did the Irish thing and kept blessing myself!!!  Arrived in Playa Blanca Christmas eve and spent today by pool recovering. Haven't been to Anvil yet but plan to get there very soon. And its a definite for New years eve....

Wow sounds scary but at least you're guaranteed it wont happen on the homeward leg.  Grin

Popped into anvil last night - wed - and there was an elvis impersonator on and he was brilliant.  Only caught last half hour but he is back there next wed and I'll be there.  If you're an Elvis fan you'd love him.  When he spoke he ruined it a bit but when he sang he was one of the best Elvis guys I've heard.  Anvil was the usual great service and lovely atmosphere.  Don't usually go near Irish pubs - have enough of them back home but after 6 years coming here wandered in last year coz it started raining and loved it.  Spent last New Years eve there and plan to do same again this year.  Fireworks right outside at midnight and not too far to ramble (or stagger) home. But can't wait for Elvis next weds...
