watched it to day on catch up and must say wasn't too impressed , i know a lot of regulars were missing , but i am not sure was it meant to be a normal Xmas show or a show in memory of Geoffrey Hutching who died and played Mel ,

might give the new series a go but think its run its course now

I've not watched it yet, and don't think i'll bother, as EM said exactly the same as you, wasn't as good as what it could have been.
She said "it was just thrown together" Sad

give them their due mate , think with one of the main actors dying , they had to change the scripts at the last moment , but think even the last series wasn't as good as the first

Didn't know 'Mel' had died. Shocked EM also said that Johnny Vegas wasn't in it either. Shocked He was my fave Cheesy

Haven't seen it yet... although we do have it lined up to watch tomorrow. To be fair, he wasn't one of my fave characters. But at least this way I won't expect too much after reading the comments. Cheers for the heads up! xx

Damn!!! Johnny Vegas WAS my fave character in it!

Vegas quit to go elsewhere, as well as him , the two gay blokes aren't in it , the daughter with the young kid not in it , and the youngish couple , oh and Mel

only a few garveys , the Scottish swingers + a lot of mates , the barman and the manager of the hotel or receptionist , oh and Louis spence for a second and sue pollard oh and Vegas's mum and some bloke (Brian Murphy)

dont recommend elle at all ,

Just watched it, and yes must agree a lot of characters missing, and not as funny as in the past. Hoping new series may be better.

I did not realise Geoffrey Hutchings had died either, such a shame only 71

I was disappointed not to see some favourite faces in the Crimbly one... but I'll admit to getting a tad teary at the end.

Will give the new series a go though.
