Hi Steve

When we were there earlier this month you told me about the web site you were setting up and asked me to post any photos we had, have been looking for the site but can't find it, can you let me know where to find it again.

Cheers

Hi Peter - here you go. www.friendsbarlanzarote.com

There are still a few design elements that need changing on it though Peter (on my list for first thing in the new year), so it hasn't been released to Google yet until I've done those xxx

Happy New Year Everyone! We're returning to Puerto del carmen in a few weeks - can't wait!
Could anyone tell me if I can have a ciggy outside friends, arthurs, etc - just that I've been reading about the new law and finding it confusing i.e., something about walls, (fi there's a wall either side of bar you can't smoke) and...if outside there is a tent/canvas thing over tables you can't smoke!Just curious really.best wishes to all.

Hi Littlefred. Knowing the layout of the Friends Bar's terrace I don't see why not. There is a wall to the right as you face the bar... but not to the left. I think Arthur's should be okay as well... although don't quote me on it as I can't remember if there is canvas on each side or not.

But... one thing that may throw a smoky spanner in the works is if they class that square as being enclosed because of its size. Pop down and have a looksie... if there's ashtrays on the tables, then you're okay.

I came home from the beach via friends this afternoon and had a quick look for you, there are ashtrays on the table and looking at the layout I think they are OK having them there from my understanding of the new rules.

A bit ironic that friends could get into trouble for allowing people to smoke while no-0one seems to bother about the knocking shop next door mind.

Yeah, I know it's legal Elle, I meant it seemed a bit ironic that it is illegal to smoke, but not to run a brothel, PDC seems to have a new one opening every five minutes.
