We had a curry and a cottage pie yesterday evening, they were delicious. We arrived at 0830, and were a bit worried at first we wouldn't get a table, it was so packed, but Dave took pity on us.

Maybe he means "about" 8:30 as in
"We arrived at 0 (oh, it must have been about) 8:30,
