We were recommended this movie by Bernie and her hubby recently... and finally got around to watching it recently.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it.

It's not really fast paced (until the end of course) but the dialogue is excellent. The dark humour had us roaring at times. Brendan Gleason and Colin Farrell are brilliant, as is Ralph Fiennes (only wish there was more of him in it).

I don't want to say too much. It's not that I'd give anything away... ... ... I just think that it should be watched with fresh eyes and no preconceptions.

Have decided I will accept Colin Farrell's offer of him being my sex slave - very pretty he is!

I really want to visit the place now I've seen the movie, Steve. It's described in the movie as "fairy tale" and I agree.

I hope you enjoy watching it!

Grin Grin   Glad you got around to watching In Bruges, Elle!  And glad you enjoyed it too.  It's definitely one of my favourite films ever, and I absolutely love Brendan Gleeson acting in anything!

Gleeson starred in another Irish movie called Perrier's Bounty in 2009.  Also in the movie were Cillian Murphy (another Irish Cutie!) and Jim Broadbent.  I thought it was absolutely brilliant, but I've seen some reviews that wouldn't agree.  If you can get your hands on it though, I think it's well worth a watch.

Yes, I like Brendan Gleason too - am yet to see him anything less than great in a movie.
Have seen Cillian Murphy in a few things now (including 28 days later) and think he's ace.
Jim Broadbent is cool of course

I don't think I've seen Perrier's Bounty - but I see from IMDB that it has Gabriel Byrne in it too. Will look out for that one!

Cheers love xx

I love this movie. I was expecting a typical Colin Farrell spy, hit man, gangster type movie. It was a total surprise. I've since watched it again, even better second type around.

Is that the one with the 2 guys from Belfast who are sent to Brugge while the heat dies down?

Great film if that's the one.

I agree, great film and a great location too.
EM and I went for a tour around the centre in a horse drawn carriage, like Steve said, very romantic.

Well worth a trip Elle.

depending on your broadband speed, you could probably source a "backup copy" ;-) from Piratebay or Demonoid, not that I would condone such things  Roll Eyes
