Poppy,

Funily enough, we've just been discussing that here http://www.canarynightlife.net/forum/index.php/topic,8009.msg177007.html#msg177007.  Look at my posts on that thread.

We do have a council tax, but it's only about 400 euro - depending on which Town, and how big the property is, but since I was paying £1500 for a standard semi in Salisbury, its a bargain, although you get less for it - no library etc.  Community charges vary enormously, depending on shared facilities like a pool or tennis courts or brothel .  As a guide, our in a "Faro Park" type of community with no communal faciliites is 360 euro a year. In one with a pool, I believe it is about double that - but someone may know better.

We don't have community fees yet as our copmplex is too new... but they have told us it will eventually be about €25 per month. We have no communal pool... and very little gardened areas.

Our Community fees are E1200 a year for a communal pool and really nice gardens (well I think they're nice!)
