I'm not easily distracted... Oh look - a puppy!

I watched the first of these last night and really enjoyed it.

Take a bunch of kids who have left school with no qualifications... and put them in a classroom with some great people for a second chance at learning.

Some of the "teachers" are:
Ellen MacArthur - yachtswoman
Rolf Harris - artist and songwriter
David Starkey - historian (classic tv cringe moment when he called a kid fat)
Simon Callow - actor
Robert Winston - scientist

Most of the "teachers" have no classroom experience with kids of this age... and certainly not with kids who for whatever reason have attitude issues. This is making some of them even more gripping to watch than the unruly youngsters.

Looking forward to the next one.

I read an article by Simon Callow in which he said it was one of the most amazing experiences of his life (or words to that effect). He ended by saying 'I really, really liked those kids'.

I really liked "Chance in a Million" in which Simon Callow appeared about twenty-odd years ago.
